Relief에 의한 섬유예술의 표현연구

Abstract

오늘날 예술현상은 자율적인 개념추구와 더불어 다변화·복잡화됨에 따라 미술에 있어서의 쟝르개념이 모호하게 되었다. 20C초 큐비즘의 꼴라쥬에 근거를 둔 Relief표현은 오브제적인 경향을 보이면서 현대회화사속에서 전개·발전되어 왔다. 이러한 현대회화에서의 Relief형식이 현대섬유예술에 유입되면서, 그 미적가치가 다양화되었을 뿐 아니라 다채로운 표현방법을 시도함으로써 순수조형예술로 전개되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현대섬유예술에 있어서 다양하게 나타나고 있는 Relief의 표현 형식중 직조에 의한 조형표현을 연구범위로 하여, 그 표현방법을 분류·분석하였다. 또한 실제작품제작을 통하여 직조에 의한 Relief의 새로운 표현 가능성을 탐구하고 그 표현 효과를 연구하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 작품제작에 있어서는 자연의 형상화에 쉽게 부합될 수 있는 천연재료인 마사를 사용하였으며, Relief의 표현효과를 높이기 위해 동선을 경사로 사용하였다. 또한 작품의 주제에 따라 다양한 piece를 제작하여 조립하므로서 각기 다른 Relief의 표현을 시도하였다. 작품제작결과 piece형태들의 조립에 의한 조형표현은 형태들을 겹치거나 평면에 부착하므로서 다양한 Relief효과를 나타낼 수 있었다. 또한 동선을 사용하여 piece를 구기거나 자유롭게 그 형태를 변형시켜주므로서 수정작업이 가능하였고, piece자체내에서도 다양한 변화를 나타낼 수 있었다. 그러나 앞으로 새로운 방향을 모색하는 실험정신으로 폭넓은 Relief 표현연구에 노력해야 할 것이다.;With the nowaday's phenomena in the art becoming diversification and complication, a genre concept in the fine arts becams obscure. And the Relief-Expression based on the collage of cubism, while showing objective tendencty has been spreaded and developed in the history of the modern pictures. This Relief-from in the modern pictures, while being introduced in the modern fibrous art, is not only diversified in the value of the beauty, but is being developed into the pure formative art. In this paper, making the formative expression by weavings among many a relief-expressional form a limitted range of study, those expressional methods have been classified and analyzed. And also, through the practical work-production, a new expressional possibility by relief has been researched, and eventually, a study on the expressional efficiencies became the purpose of this paper. In the work-production, a natural material, hemp yarn was used, and to improve theexpressional efficiency of the relief, cupper wire was used for the wire-added warp. And also, by producing various pieces in accordance with the subjects of the work, different expressions of relief each other were attempted. In the result of work-production, the formative expressions by assembling piece-forms could be effective in showing various relief-effectiveness by overlapping the forms or by adhering those on the plane. And also, by crumpling the pieces or transforming freely its form by using the cupper wires, the work of modification could be possible and in pieces, themselves, various transformations could be shown. However, in the future, with an experimental spirit to grope a new direction, a study on the wide relief expression must be focussed and given by much effort.
