선을 이용한 자연의 동적표현

Abstract

인간은 자연의 섭리안에서 존재하는 자연의 일부분으로 자연은 인간에게 끊임없는 감동을 주며, 인간은 그 감동을 예술이란 형식으로 형상화시켜왔다. 예술에 있어서 자연은 끊임없이 소재를 제공해주는 존재이다. 이러한 자연의 표현은 시대에 따라 변화되어 왔으며, 현대미술은 대상을 그대로 모사하는 과거의 고정관념을 거부하고 대상과 내면세계를 의식적으로 결합하는 예술가의 독창력을 중요시하게 되었다. 또한 조형세계는 그 표현방법에 있어서, 과거의 한정된 재료로부터 탈피하여 다양한 재료와 기술의 발전으로 인하여 그 영역이 무한히 확대되었다. 이러한 점에서 본 연구자는 생동하는 자연에서 받은 이미지로, 납방염법의 선에 의한 추상적표현의 가능성을 모색하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로 자연과 예술의 관계, 자연을 추상적으로 표현한 추상미술의 특성을 살펴본 후에, 다양한 가능성으로 자연을 추상적으로 표현할 수 있는 선의 특질을 고찰하였다. 이러한 이론적 배경을 근거로, 자연에 대한 인상으로부터 작품이 형성되는 과정과 납방염을 이용한 표현재료및 제작과정을 연구하여 12점의 작품을 제작하고 분석해 본 결과, 다음과 같은 결론에 도달하였다. 첫째, 자연이 인간에게 제시하는 세계는, 자연 그 자체뿐만 아니라 그 배후에서 느낄 수 있는 진리와 예술가의 감정까지를 총괄하는 광범위한 세계이며, 그 표현은 예술가 자신의 내면세계와 독창성의 표출로서 형성되는 의도적인 행위임을 인식할 수 있었다. 둘째, 표현에 있어서 선은, 그 자체만으로 인간의 내면세계를 상징적으로 암시하기에 충분한 추상표현요소임을 상기하게 되었다. 셋째, 커터를 이용한 초선의 표현은 생동적이고 질서있는 화면을 구성할 수 있으며, 커터는 염색에 있어서 독특한 선을 표현하는 도구로 제시될 수 있다는 가능성을 알게 되었다. 넷째, 작품제작에 있어서는 재료의 특성을 파악하고, 그 표현기법의 실험연구로 개성적 기법을 개발함으로서 새로운 표현양식이 생성될 수 있음을 알게 되었다. 그러나 재료와 기법에 치중하여 12점의 작품을 좀 더 만족할 수 있게 제작하지 못한 아쉬움이 있었고, 그라데이션의 점진적 방염을 하는 방법상의 문제로 화면의 외곽이 밝게 시작될 수 밖에 없는 문제점이 있었다. 이러한 문제점은 계속적인 작업으로 해결해나가고자 하며, 본 연구가 앞으로의 작품제작에 있어 창의적인 표현의 확대를 위한 계기가 되었으면 한다.;Man who exists in the realm of the nature is himself an integral part of nature. Nature constantly has inspired man, in return have tried to embody the impressions he got from the nature through the various art forms. Nature has always been the vast treasure house of materials for art. Ways of representing this nature have changed through the ages. Nowadays, modern art rejects the fixed ideas which define art as the imitation of objects as they actualy are and gives great impotance to the artistic originality that combines the external objects with the inner world of the artist. Besides, the range of plastic word has been infinitedy expanded becauce it turned away from the limited marterials of the past toward the search for the various materials and techniques. In these regards, this thesis aims at searching for the possibility of abstract expressionism using lines in Batik, especially with the images derived from the nature. In the way of theoretical background to this research, I first tried to study the characteristics of abstract art which represents nature abstractly and also tried to grasp the interrelationship between art and nature. And after that I tried to illuminate the characteristics of lines implying infinite possibilities of expressing nature in an abstract way. With this backgrounds, I researched the process of a work made from the impressions of nature, and expressive materials and working method applying Batik technique as well. After applying such to my twelve works, and analyzing the results, I got the conclusions as follows : First, the world that nature reveals to man is so extensive that it comprehends not only nature itself but also the reality which is veiled behind it and the emotion of the artist as well. Representing nature is a conscious ;activity which is accomplished by expressing the inner world of artist by using his originality. Second, in the matter of expression, I found that lines are proper means of abstract expression which are sufficient to imply the inner world of man in a symbolic way. Third, I became to know that in Batik, expressions of lines using cutter can construct vivid and orderly plane, and also found that in dyeing craft cutter itself can be used as an effective tool for expressing the unique lines. Fourth, new methods of expression can be found in the process of working by grasping the characters of the materials completely and by developing the individualistic techniques through the experimental studies. But, as a result of stressing on the materials and techniques, my twelve works remain unsatisfactory. Besides, on account of my twelve works remain unsatisfactory. Besides, on account of technical problem of Batik, which dyes gradually for gradation, it was difficult to express brightness at the outer part of the plane. I hope successive experiments and works would solve these porblems, and wish this study to be fully applied in the process of work and contribute to expand the possibility of creative expression.
