페르귄트(Peer Gynt)를 위한 무대의상 디자인 연구

Abstract

무대미술은 공연을 목적으로 계획되는 것이다. 무대에 있어 시각적 환경의 일익을 담당하고 있는 무대의상은 공연 목적에 부합하며 무대의 최대효과를 염두에 두고 세밀한 계획에 의해 제작된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 헨리·입센(Henrik Ibsen)의 작품 「페르귄트(Peer Gynt)」를 선택하여 최대의 시각적 효과를 고려해 새로운 각도의 디자인 의도하에 무대의상을 연구한 것이다. 「페르귄트」는 노르웨이의 오랜 전설을 소재로하여 5막으로 구성된 시극(詩劇)으로, 주인공 페르귄트의 청년부터 노년까지의 긴 인생에 있어서 방황과 모험을 묘사한 것이다. 본 연구는 등장인물중 주요인물과 의상디자인에 있어 흥미를 부여할 수 있는 추상적이고 비현실적인 인물을 중심으로 14인을 선택하여 무대의상을 구상하였다. 디자인은 희곡 작품으로부터 시간·공간을 초월하여 현대적인 조형감각을 극대화하도록 의도하였다. 즉, 첫째, 작품을 초현대적 감각으로 해석한 연출방향에 맞추어 무대의상의 창작적인 면을 최대한 부각시키도록 새로운 각도의 디자인 방향을 취했다. 둘째, 디자인 요소인 색상·형태·소재의 선택은 각 인물의 내면세계를 표출하며 성격및 신체적 특성을 강조하도록 계획하였다. 이러한 의도하에 의상의 창작성과 상징성을 최대한 살린 디자인을 전개하여 총 14점의 일러스트레이션을 제시하였다.;The stage Art is planned for performance, And the stage costume, which is a part of visual settings on the stage, has to be made carefully to correspond with the purpose of performance and to accomplish the maximum stage effects. In my thesis, I chose 'Peer Gynt' by Henrik Ibsen and investigated Stage costume to accomplish the maximum visual effects. 'Peer Gynt' is a dramatic poem composed of 5 acts. Based on the old Nor wagian legend, it depicts the adventures and wanders of Peer Gynt, hero of the drama, in all his life. I chose 14 very abstract and unrealistice characters of all characters. whom I thought very interesting and stimulating for costume designs. I designed the costumes to give the char acers the maximum contemporary plastic sense beyond the space and time. First, according to the new interpretation of the drama, I took the direction which stressed the creative side of the costumes. Second, colors, materials and silhouettes, elements of design, were chosen to emphasize the characters and bodily characeristiques of the characers, and to express the inner world of the characers. According to my intention of design, I present 14 illustrations which emphasize the creativity and symbolism of costume design.
