조형성을 강조한 가방 디자인

Abstract

한 민족의 미의식은 그 민족예술의 모체가 된다. 우리는 현대에 살고 있지만 미의식의 뿌리 만큼은 선조들의 미의식과 다름 없음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구는 복식의 한 분야로 미발달상태에 있는 가방에 대하여 우리나라의 전통 「조각보」를 이용한 디자인에 관하여 연구하였다. 기존적인 가방의 관념을 초월하여 벽에 걸면 하나의 벽장식이 되고 더 발전하여 「소프트 스컵츄어 」 (Soft sculpture)로 까지 확대시켜 조형성과 기능성을 조화시키려는 의도에서 조형예술적 가방으로서의 새로운 접근을 시도했다. 실물제작 작품은 총 8점이며 우리나라의 전통 「조각보」에 나타난 조형미와 기능성을 응용하여 가죽을 소재로 「패치워크」 (patch work) 기법으로 제작하였다. 작품을 통해 추구한 의도는 다음과 같다. 1. 가방의 형태에서 조형예술성의 추구 2. 우리나라 전통 「조각보」의 조형미와 기능성의 응용. 3. 「패치워크」 (patch work)기법에서 얻어지는 재질감과 색채의 효과;A new formative class of dress and its ornaments, namely, that of formative arts, which represent strongly individual personality upon the group of every aesthetic values has become to be established, in parallel with a general trend of the modern manner of arts. Related to a bag which becomes justly a field for dressing and ornamenting, yet is in the state of the undeveloped enough, this research focused on a design which makes use of patch-work technique. That is, a new approach to the bag of figurative arts was attempted from the wish to design a bag which harmonize the two aspects in the bag --- one for formative art's sake, and the other for the sake of function --- i.e., a bag formed in such a way, if hung of the wall as to be an ornament for the wall and furthur as to be developed up to a kind of soft sculpture. Consequently total 8 points of applied works were create through this study, a1l all of them was produced by the technique of patch work with the material of leather, modernizing the formative aesthetical values which are appeared in the unique 'patch work coverlets' of our country. The aims pursued through these works are as follows; 1. Pursuance of the nature of figurative arts in the forms of a bag. 2. Effect of feeling of material quality and from its colors through the technic of patch work. 3. Modernization of formative aesthetical values of patch work coverlets.
