조선조 단청문양을 응용한 복식 디자인 연구

Abstract

In the cultural history of humanbeings, design has its long history and has been created, inherited, and developed as a peculiar cultural inheritance of each people. Dan-Cheong is one of our cultural inheritances which shows the excellent artistic sense of our nation with its various designs and gorgeous colors. Taking this point into consideration, 1 was trying to examine our national Dan-Cheong design in this thesis and find out its aesthetic consciousness flowing on the basis. In addition to that, this thesis has its purpose on joining our traditional elegance to the modern clothing style and achieve conventional succession and practical use. For its logical background, I examined the conception of Dan-Cheong, its purpose and its historical transition. I also studied colors, kinds, and systems of Dan-cheong design. In the applied work productions, hemp textile and ramie Fabric have been used as materials. For the expression of design, applique patchwork and quilting using hemp textile and ramie fabric have been applied. I rather rearranged the Dan-cheong design, to harmonize with the detail lines, colors, and silhovette of clothes than to represent exactly what it is. 6 real substances and 2 illustrations, totally 8 works have been produced in this way. I made my efforts in this thesis to develope practical designs which are very useful in the real life and especially to join traditional elegance to modern life style. For the development of various new designs and materials, many-sided studies on utilizing traditional materials and new techniques should be followed.;인류 문화사상, 문양은 유구한 것이며 각 민족 고유의 문화유산으로서 창조, 계승, 발전되어져 왔다. 단청 또한 다양한 모양과 화려한 색채로 우리 민족의 뛰어난 예술적 감각을 보여주고 있는 문화유산이다. 본 논문은 이 점에 착안하여 우리나라의 단청문양을 고찰하여 본 후 그 기저에 흐르는 민족의 미의식을 재 발견하며 나아가 그 고유한 멋을 현대복식에 도입하여 전통의 계승 및 실용화를 기하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이론적 배경으로는 단청의 개념 및 목적의 재정리, 단청에 관한 사적인 변천 그리고 단청문양의 색채, 종류, 체계등을 고찰해 보았다. 또한 이를 응용한 작품제작에 있어서는 마섬유나 모시, 폴리에스터/아세테이트를 소재로 사용했으며, 문양표현 방법으로는 마섬유와 공단을 이용한 아플리케 패치워크( applique patchwork ), 퀄팅 ( quilting )을 이용했다. 단, 단청문양은 있는 그대로의 상태를 재현하기 보다는 옷이 갖는 실루엣 ( silhouette )이나 부분선의 성격과 색채에 맞도록 재조정하여 배치하였다. 그렇게 해서 제작된 작품은 실물6점과 일러스트레이션 ( illustration ) 2점으로 총8점의 작품을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 논문을 통하여 미적 또는 기능적인 측면에서 실생활과 유리되지 않는 실용성 있는 디자인 개발에 주력했으며, 또한 전통적인 멋과 현대 복식의 접목을 의도하였다.
