男性 舞踊手가 발레史에 끼친 影響

Abstract

"舞踊은 男性의 行爲이다"^(1) 라고 Mourice Be´jart(1928~ )가 表現한 것처럼 舞踊의 歷史에 있어서 男性 舞踊手의 役割과 功獻은 매우 至大하였다. 원시시대부터 남성이 優先權을 차지한 무용史의 흐름은 르네상스시대에 誕生한 발레에서도 이어졌는데, 이 흐름은 이후로 계속되다가, 19C중반 浪漫主義의 발레이후 커다란 轉換期를 맞게 되었다. 즉, 非現實的인 幻想의 世界를 追求하는 思想이 담긴 낭만주의의 발레는 'Sur les pointe'라는 技法의 開發과 함께 가벼움과 부드러움등의 女性的인 이미지로 觀衆의 마음을 완전히 사로잡았다. 이러한 急激한 變化는 19C중반까지 남성이 支配했던 발레를 남성의 參輿가 거의 必要없고 심지어는 남성의 登場이 부자연스럽게 보일 정도의 '여성적인 예술'^(2)로 바꾸었다. 그러다가 다른 서방국가들과는 달리 남성 무용의 傳統을 維持해오던 러시아에서 금세기의 초에 結成된 Ballet Russes가 등장하여 Nijinsky를 舞臺의 중앙에 세움으로서 남성 무용수의 主體性(identity)에 대한 새로운 시야를 열어 주었다. 이러한 Ballet Russes의 活動을 보더라도 Nijinska를 제의한 모든 안무가 즉, Fokine, Nijinsky, Massine, Rifar, Balanchine 등 금세기의 위대한 걸작과 훌륭한 業績을 남긴 인물들은 모두 남성이었다. 그리고 오늘날에 와서도 각 나라를 代表하는 안무가, 이론가, 무용수, 무용교사, 발레 감독등은 거의 남성으로 매우 중요한 위치와 역할을 擔當하며 발레계에 전반적으로 影響力을 미치고 있다. 따라서 본 論文에서는 발레史를 중심으로하여 남성 무용수의 역할과 발레 발전을 위한 그들의 功獻을 考察함으로써 발레史에 끼친 影響力에 대해서 알아 보고자 하며, 窮極的으로 무용에 있어서 남성의 重要性에 대한 指適을 하고자 한다.;As Mouris Be´jart says, "Dance is a man's affair", male dancer's affect and contribution to the history of dance was very great as the time goes, In the history of dance started from the initiative by male in the primitive age, it has been succeeded to the Ballet which began in the Renaissance. By the wat, it has come to face the era of great change since Romantic Ballet on the middle of 19th century. That is to say the Romantic ballet which contains the thoughts to persue the unrealistic and fantasical field has grasped the spectators with the womanly image such as lightliness and smoothliness from the invention of new technic, 'Sur les pointe'. This sudden change made people believe that the dance is 'an art for female' which doesn't need the male, even to a degree that it is thought to be unnatural for male to play ballet. The emergence of Ballet Russes, incorporated in Russia, which the tradition of male dancer had been relatively well kept differently from another western countries made new horizon to the identity of male dancer with the entrance of Nijinsky in the center of the stage. Even though we only see the activities of Ballet Russes, most of the coreographers except for Nijinska, like Fokine, Nijinsky, Massine, Rifar, Balanchine etc, who had left great masterpieces of this century and good achievements were males. Samely, these days, the coreographer, theologer, dancer, dancing teacher, Ballet master which represent their countries respectively are almost the male, who are in charge of very important position and have a good role and deep influence on Ballet socity. Accordingly, the purpose of this thesis is to see the influence of male dancer on Ballet through the study about the male dancer's contribution to the development of Ballet and their roles in view of the history of Ballet and ultimately to designate about the male's importance in the dancing.
