데이타베이스 환경을 위한 SQL-SDE의 설계 및 구현

Abstract

A user interface system for database environment, named SQL- SDE(structured query language-syntax directed editor) is designed and implemented in this thesis. SQL-SDE supports users specifying their query, processes the specified query with the aids of lower parts of database management system. As, when specifying query, users need the help information for the query language and for the database schema, SQL-SDE shows the help information. By doing so, the amount of information which users must remember during the query specification and the syntactic typing errors are greatly reduced. Secondly, as SQL can be described in BNF form, we adopt the features of syntax-directed editor and widnow package. By incorporating features such as syntax checking and possible semantic error checking, SQL-SDE displays the syntax of the SQL to users along the way the users specify the query and, in turn, users can specify their query more conveniently and efficiently; which results in increased productivity. SQL-SDE is implemented at IBM PC/AT with Unix System V operating system.;본 논문에서는 다양한 정보를 저장, 관리하는 데이타베이스의 사용 환경에서 사용자들이 편리하게 데이타베이스를 사용할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스 시스템인 SQL-SDE(Structured Query Language - Syntax Directed Editor)을 설계, 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 SQL-SDE는 사용자들이 대화식으로 데이타베이스를 사용할 때, 반복적으로 질의를 작성할 수 있도록 하며, 또한 질의 작성 시 필요한 데이타베이스 및 질의어에 관한 상세한 정보를 제공한다. 도움 정보를 제공함으로써, 사용자들의 정보 기억 부담을 줄인다. 그리고, 구문 지향 에디터의 기본 구조를 이용하므로, 사용자가 작성한 질의에 대한 구문 검사, 의미 검사 등의 기능을 수행하여 질의 작성 효율을 높이게 된다. 또한 사용자들이 작성한 질의를 즉시 수행하여 결과를 얻을 수 있으므로, 작성한 질의의 정확성을 검사할 수 있다. SQL-SDE는 현재 데이타베이스 시스템의 표준화된 질의어인 SQL을 제공하며 UNIX System V운영 체제를 이용하는 IBM PC/AT에서 구현되었다.
