꽃의 장식적 표현에 의한 염색의 실용화

Abstract

The art created by man is not so much imitating the exteral nature as persuing the possibilities of self-expression through the nature of esthetic object. That is, the great nature's beauty is the mother's womb to give birth to the beauty of art. The artists grasp the substance of nature only by seeking after the nature's ultimate truth and reconstitute it as a unique world. As we improve the living standard and change the way of life, the awareness to meet the esthetic value and the sense in the meaning of diverse moulding arts grew higher in the industrial arts. This awareness called for decorating the living space that is flexible, up-to-date and have a marked individuality. Therefore, the materials of flower among the objects in nature are reconstituted as a moulding goods so as to answer the purpose of utility and esthetics. And in the process of this through the substantialization of the image, the purpose of this study is to explore ways toward the possibilities of the utility goods and the expression style in dyeing industrial arts. The precesses to inquere this study are as follows. First, I examine the co-relations of the nature with the arts and the concept 'nature' is studied through the records. Second, as we have a increasing interests in the develling space that is the most basie in livinghood, the living goods to utilize in the livingroom and the women's quater are produced. And in process of this, the following problems and solutions have been suggested. First, The flower is not only the mouldings work involving it's beauty and liveliness, but also the ideal materical which can enlarge the range of practicality due to it's friendly relationship with man. Second, taking into account that the genuine capability of industrial arts depends on the proper harmony of art with practicality, the implementation to practise the dyeing is very desirable. Third, even there was some difficulties to grasp the dyes and the fabric characteristics as the utility goods, it can be indicated that the possibilities to express the peculiar techniques and the style are appeared in the dyeing industrial arts contrasting with the general moulding art. Second, as what one says "Art is expression", the expression of art is not just the depiction of objects but the expression by his own subject. Based on this, it is informed that new esthetic impression can be touched, dissimilar to the feeling in simple depiction of objects through simplifying the transformation of nature and reconstituting it in moulding character. Third, the flower is the object that can be looked into further that it's beauty can coincide with man and it made an offer the chance of thinking nature twice. And no matter how there were some difficulties to understand the characteristics of the fabric and the dyes and to express them, the only peculiar techniques and the possibilities of expressing the shape in dyeing could be abstracted. But persuing the moulding character in the expression of technique turned out to be a monotonous expression and I have a feeling that the objects are simplified accounting for using the beeswax in two stages. Consequently, there needs to be a ceaseless study and efforts so as to strengthen solving the problems.;인간이 창조하는 예술은 외관적 자연의 모방을 위주로 하는 것이 아니라, 미적 대상인 자연을 통하여 자기표현의 가능성을 찾는 것이다. 즉 대자연의 미는 예술미를 낳게하는 모태인 것이다. 예술가는 자연의 궁극적인 진리를 추구하여 자연의 본질을 파악하고 독창적 세계로 재구성 하는 것이다. 생활수준의 향상과 생활양식의 변천에 따라 공예에 있어서도 다양한 조형예술로서의 미적 가치와 미의식을 충족시키려는 의식이 높아지고 있는 것이 오늘의 실정이다. 이러한 의식은 개성과 시대감각에 맞는 융통성 있는 생활공간의 장식을 요구하게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 공예의 본질인 심미성과 실용성의 두가지 목적을 위하여 자연의 대상물 중 꽃을 소재로 조형적으로 재구성하는 과정에서 그 이미지를 실체화 시켜 염색공예에서의 표현양식과 실용품으로서의 가능성을 모색하고자 한다. 자연과 예술과의 관계를 고찰하고 자연대상의 관찰 및 변형, 그리고 자연의 표현에 대한 개념을 문헌을 통하여 연구하고, 생활환경에서 가장 기본이 되는 주공간에 대한 관심이 확대됨에 따라 그 활용을 위한 안방과 거실의 생활용품을 제작하였으며 이를 제작하는 과정에서 다음의 문제점들과 해결방안을 발견할 수 있었다. 첫째, 꽃은 그 자체의 아름다움과 생명감으로 조형적 작품 뿐 아니라 인간의 친화력이 있어 실용의 범위를 넓혀 줄 수 있는 이상적인 소재였고, 둘째, 공예의 참된 기능은 예술성과 실용성의 적절한 균형에 있다고 볼 때, 염색의 실용화를 위한 시도는 바람직한 작업이었다고 생각한다. 세째, 실용품으로서의 섬유의 특성과 염료의 파악에 있어 어려움이 따르지만, 일반조형미술에서 느끼지 못한 염색공예만이 지닐 수 있는 독특한 기법과 양식의 표현 가능성을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 새로운 재료와 기법의 계속적인 연구와 노력으로 수공예가 지니는 미적 가치를 산업에 투입시킴으로써 대중을 위한 양질의 산업공예를 이루어 합리적으로 보급될 때, 우수한 수공예품이 될 수 있으며 바람직한 염색의 생활화가 이루어지리라 생각된다.
