졸업연주회 프로그램을 중심으로 한 J.S. Bach, R. Schumann, C. Debussy, B. Britten, R. Strauss, C. Floyd의 성악작품에 대한 연구

Abstract

The writer gave a graduation recital on Sep.22. 1988 for the M.M. degree in voice performance. This thesis aims to investigate the backgrounds and characteristics of the performed songs. Johann Sebastian Bach(1685-1750) was the greatest master of the German Baroque Period and especially in Cantata genre, he left about: 300 works including secular cantatas. Arias from the cantata No.93 and No.89 are both Da Capo arias which was composed during the Leipzig Period (1723-1750). In these arias, Bach shows a great mercy and love of Jesus. Robert Schumann(1810-1856) was the real succesor to Schubert Schumann displays a worderful sense of balance between voice and piano. In his song, piano plays a new role: it makes the song more highly artistic and more profound. In "Zwei venetianische Lieder Ⅰ and Ⅱ", he shows lyricism well and also in "Berg' and Burgen schaun herunter" and "Mit Myrten and Rosen" he shows the lyricism of his melody and the piano emphasizing the finer traits of the poem. Claude Debussy(1862-1918) was the most important figure in the realm of "Impressionism". "Quatre chansans de Jeunesse" are the songs in the "Vasnier series" and pablished posthumously. In this collection, he uses synconations, chromaticism and church modes which show a sophisticated Impressionistic mood. Benjamin Britten(1913-1976) was the most outstarding 20th century English composer of vocal music. Especially in folksong arrangements, he sets about 65 song and his charming expressions show well. In this "Folksong Arrangements Vol.5", Britten shows his ability to combine simplicity and sophistication, making the settings appropriate to the folk idiom but original at the same time. Richard Strauss (1824-1884) was the nest important composer and conductor in the Late Romanticism. "Schlagende Herzen" is a pastoral song and "Breit u¨ber Mein Haupt" is a serenade. In quick modulations, rich harmony and dramatic episode, we can say that "Heimliche Aufforderung" is quite operatic in style. Carlisle Floyd(1926- ) is an American composer. Opera "Susannah" was produced by the New York City Opera in 1956 and has been widlely staged in the U.S.A. In translates the "Apocryphal story of Suannah" to rural Tennesse. Aria "The trees on the mountains" which is an aria in Act II, employed a folklike modality and simple melody line.;본인은 1988년 9월 22일(목)에 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회를 가졌다. 본 논문은 본인의 졸업연주회 프로그램을 중심으로 바로크시대부터 20세기 전반까지의 성악곡에 나타난 특징과 구조를 살펴 봄으로써 실제 연주시에 곡에 대한 이해를 돕고자 함이 목적이라 하겠다. Johann Sebastian Bach (1685~1750)는 칸타타발전의 황금기를 누린 작곡가이다. 본 논문에서는 칸타타 No. 93과 No. 89에 나오는 아리아의 작품배경과 분석을 통해 그 특징을 알고자 한다. Robert Schumann (1810∼1856)에서는 그의 가곡의 일반적 특징을 4개의 가곡의 분석을 통해 알아보려 한다. Claude Dedussy (1862∼1918)는 후기 낭만시대에 태어난 인상주의 음악의 창시자이다. 본 논문에서는 <Quatre chansons de Jeunesse>를 중심으로 그의 가곡의 특징을 살펴보고자 한다. Benjamin Britten (1913~1976)의 프로그램에서는 <Folksong Arrangements Vol. 5>중 3곡의 분석으로 Britten가곡의 일반적 특징을 알아본다. Richard Strauss (1824~1884)는 19세기말에서 20세기초에 활동한 독일 후기 낭만주의 작곡가이다. 본 논문에서는 Op. 29의 No. 2, Op. 19의 No. 2, Op. 27의 No. 3의 분석을 통해 그의 가곡의 특징을 살펴보고자 한다. Carlisle Floyd (1926~ )에서는 그의 오페라 <Susannah>의 내용과 아리아 “The trees on the mountains”의 분석으로 그의 오페라이해에 도움을 주고자 한다.
