엥겔스의 여성억압 분석에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study started from the though that although Engels in one of the most important theorist in feminism, the previous studies about his theory was arbitrary and fragmentary. Son this thesis is witten on purpose to study Engel's theory on the woman question objectively and totally. This kind of work is also needed to overcome Engels theoretically in feminism. This Thesis consists of Ⅰ. introduction, Ⅱ. previous feminist studies on Engels, Ⅲ. Engels's analysis on the woman question, and Ⅳ. coclusion. Chap. Ⅲ, the main body of this thesis is divided into Engels' methodology and his concrete historical analysis, especially the origin of the oppression of woman and the way to emancipation of women. This study examines Engels' analysis according to his logical vein, and discusses the controversies about his theory in feminism. The coclution of this study can be summed up as follows: Engels' concrete historical analysis of the woman question does not contradict his methodology, say, historical materialism, but the historical or anthropological data he used is limited. So it is necessary to complete his theoretical framework by a plenty of historical and positive studies on the reality of women's oppression. And this can be a proper way to overcome Engels in feminism.;본 논문은 여성해방이론에서 엥겔스가 차지하는 중요성이 큼에도 불구하고 엥겔스에 대한 그간의 논의들이 단편적이고 자의적이었다는 문제의식 하에서 엥겔스에 대한 객관적으로 연구할 목적으로 쓰여졌다. 엥겔스에 대한 객관적 연구는 여성해방이론에서 누누히 제기된 '엥겔스 극복'이라는 과제를 실현하기 위한 전제로서도 필요하다. 본 논문은 서론에서 논문의 문제의식과 연구목적을 밝히고 Ⅱ장에서 엥겔스에 대한 여성해방이론에서의 기존의 논의들을 살펴 본다. Ⅲ장은 본문의 본론에 해당되는데 엥겔스가 행한 여성문제 분석을 방법론과 구체적인 역사적 분석으로 구분하여 검토한다. 엥겔스의 여성문제분석 방법론은 그의 전반적 역사과학 방법론인 사적유물론으로부터 분리될 수 없는 것이기 때문에 방법론에 관한 장에서는 엥겔스의 철학과 역사과학 방법론을 포괄적으로 살펴 보았다. 여성 문제에 대한 엥겔스의 구체적인 분석은 여성억압의 기원과 극복방안에 대한 논의로 모아지므로 본 논문 역시 그러한 구성을 따랐다. 본 논문은 전체적으로 엥겔스의 논리적 흐름을 따라가면서 그에 대해 제기되는 비판, 반박들을 소개하고 그에 비추어 엥겔스의 논리를 다시 검토하는 형식을 취하였다. 본 논문의 연구결과는 다음과 같이 요악될 수 있다. 엥겔스의 여성문제연구는 흔히 지적되는 것과는 달리 그의 전반적인 역사과학 방법론에 기반하여 그에 합당하게 이루어졌으나 그가 사용한 자료들의 역사적 한계로 인하여 그의 구체적 분석들은 수정, 보완될 여지를 갖는다는 것이다. 따라서 '엥겔스의 극복' 이라는 여성해방론의 과제를 해결하기 위해서는 기본적으로 엥겔스가 제시한 방법론적 토대 위에 서되, 보다 구체적이고 현실에 기반한 역사적, 실증적 연구에 의해 현재 골격만을 갖추고 있을 뿐인 엥겔스의 논의를 정확하고 풍부한 내용으로 채워나가야 한다는 것이다.
