表現方法으로서의 象徵的 表現

Abstract

In any eras, artistic products remain crystal of human consciousness. For human being has the desire to express his own instinct impulse freely and to make a work with it. Artist, a person in society, consciously or not, is influenced from the group which surrounds him and tries to find a real value of himself in it. As for me, painting pictures is the expression of self-consciousness and act to give meaning to the surroundings relevant to me. And it is also process in which I find the real "I" and I overcome conflicts. My works express metaphorically the shape of "I" and "we", who feel the conflict and despair as an individual existing in the given reality and situation, through concrete or symbolic form. Symbol is to make hidden meaning clear, and symbolic expression is the means to express the painter's intention overtly. As the various phenomena in modern society, a tendency to pursue the variety is shown in picture painting. This is because, I think, it is insufficient to express in ancient ways the emotion of modern society filled with anxiety and dobt. Materials in my work-broken paper doll, perfectly closed portal, torned poster, wall, etc-are the symbol of alienation concept, feeling of anxiety and loss, and they are reproduced in connection with life experience. Therefore, main contents shown in works are mostly the triats reflecting real world- feeling of tension, emptiness, alienation. I gave symbolic meaning to the objects in works and used them as the means of internal feeling-expression. So, in this report, I reviewed symbolism which try directly unfoundling ideology with suggestive expression and process of pursueing the symbolic form. Last, I compared and studied symbolic image shown in work other works.;어느 시대이든 藝術的 産物은 인간의식의 결정체로 남아진다. 왜냐하면 인간은 자기자신의 本能的 충동을 자유롭게 表現하여 작품으로 남기려는 욕구가 있기 때문이다. 作家는 表現이라는 수단을 빌어 자신의 내면 깊숙히 자리하고 있는 어떤 강렬한 衡動을 표출하고자 하는데, 이때의 표현이란 묘사만을 목적으로 하지 않는다. 묘사란 표현을 위한 수단이며, 목적은 작가의 가치추구에 있기 때문이다. 작가라하는 사회속의 한 개인은 의식적이든 무의식적이든 그 자신을 둘러싸고 있는 집단의 영향을 받으며, 그속에서 진정한 자신의 의미를 찾고자 한다. 본인에 있어서도 그림을 그리는 것은 자아의식의 表出이며, 본인과 관련된 환경에 대하여 의미를 부과하는 행위이다. 또한 진정한 '나'를 발견하여 갈등을 극복하는 과정이기도 하다. 본인의 作品은 주어진 현실과 상황속에서 존재하는 한 개인으로서 갈등을 느끼고 좌절하는 '나'와 '우리들'의 모습을 구체적 형상을 통해서, 또는 상징적 형상을 통해서 은유적으로 표현하였다. 따라서 本考는 作品에 대한 이론적 뒷바침으로 구체적 형상의 표현을 통해서 상징적 형상의 표현을 하게된 동기와 상징적 표현이 갖는 이론적 근거를 연구할 것이다. 또한 그림에 나타난 사회의식의 상징적 표현을 池 작품을 통하여 알아 보고자 한다. 본인의 작품은 사회가 점차로 개인주의화 되면서, 소외와 상실감등이 만연하는 상황속에서, 본인이 바라 본 외부현실과 거기에서 느낀 내적감정을 결합시켜서, 일상생활 속의 사물을 소재로 소외감등을 상징적으로 표현하였다. 이러한 표현방법을 통하여 소외의 분위기에 간접적으로 접근을 시도하여 공감대를 형성 전달하려고 하였다. 마지막으로 본인의 작품분석을 통하여 지금까지의 조형활동을 되돌아 봄으로써 주관적인 창작행위에 대한 스스로의 가치관을 설정, 재정립 하고자 한다.
