대학 시청각센타의 통합에 대한 연구

Abstract

In rapidly changing society, modern education with advancing science requires the modernization and improvement of teaching method. Audiovisual Center has come into being in order to solve these problems, and now it moves toward to new concept that Audiovisual Center should give effective services and resources through the integration of Audiovisual Center and conventional library. Most of college and university libraries and Audiovisual Centers in Korea are separatly administerd until now, and the attitude of personnel engaged in librarians and Audiovisual Centers is still lack in recognition of their unified concept. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze their recognition of Audiovisual Center and the unified concept. The Survey was conducted to find out some problems, and then delineate the suggestions. For this survey 100 personnel were selected from libraries and Audiovisual Centers of twenty-five colleges and universities which have Audiovisual Center, and the result of the survey was as follows: 1. Library personnel and Audiovisual Center personnel thought that the function Audiovisual Center was the improvement of teaching-learning method, and the purpose of Audiovisual Center was planning development and management of service program. 2. While library personnel thought that cerntification or pro-fessional knowledge was important element for Audiovisual Center personnel. Audiovisual Center personnel thought that ability of production and technological aspect was important. 3. They thought that the main factor of effect on Audiovisual Center's service program was demand of student and instructor. 4. library personnel were more positive than Audiovisual Center personnel on unified concept. 5. They thought that the main problem of unified concept was lack in recognition and coorporation of school administrator. On the basis of these results, this thesis makes some sugges-tions as follows: 1. Political consideration of school administrator should be provided primarily. 2. In order to proper the function adequately, sufficient budget should be secured. 3, Library personnel and Audiovisual Center personnel must try to understand and coorporate each other's professional field. 4. It is necessary for each Assciation to make effort for training Media Specialist who equipps with the sufficient knowledge and the professional certification of library and Audiovisual field. 5. Space for instructional media production with modern facili-ties and equipments, but conventional library did not have it, should be secured. 6. New unified system which manages various instructional media should be provided.;과학기술의 급격한 진보로 말미암은 가속적인 사회변화속에서 보다 많은 요구를 수행해야 하는 현대교육은 그 내용과 방법에 있어 현대화가 요구되고 있는 만큼, 고급인력양성을 위한 대학 역시 교육방법의 개선이 필요하게 되었다. 이러한 교육의 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안의 하나로 교수매체의 활용을 통해 교수-학습과정의 효율화를 도모하는 시청각센타가 나타나게 되었고, 한걸음 더 나아가 효율적인 서비스와 교수매체의 이용을 위해, 전통적 도서관과 시청각센타가 일원화되어 운영된다는 통합개념이 등장하게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도서관과 시청각센타를 중심으로 통합개념에 대해 살펴보고, 도서관요원과 시청각센타요원이 시청각센타와 두 분야의 통합을 어떻게 생각하는지를 비교·분석하여 통합에 대한 가능성을 모색해보고 발전을 도모할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 인식도 비교연구는 서울시내의 시청각센타가 설치되어 있는 25개 대학 및 대학의 도서관요원과 시청각센타요원 100명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시했으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 시청각센타의 목적은 도서관요원과 시청각센타요원 모두 교수-학습의 개선으로 보고 있었고, 시청각센타의 기능은 서비스 프로그램의 계획·개발·운영이라고 생각했다. 2. 시청각센타의 요원에 대해서 도서관요원은 자격증이나 전문지식을 중시했으나 반면에 시청각센타요원은 제작기능·기술적인 면에 대한 능력을 중요하게 보았다. 3. 시청각센타의 서비스 프로그램에 영향을 주는 요인으로는 도서관요원과 시청각센타요원 모두 서비스를 제공받는 학생과 교사의 수요를 가장 중요하다고 했다. 4. 도서관과 시청각센타의 통합은 도서관요원이 시청각센타요원보다 더 필요하다고 보았고, 그 시기로는 도서관과 시청각센타요원의 통합에 대한 요구가 일치될 때라고 했다. 5. 도서관과 시청각센타의 통합에 있어서의 문제점으로는 통합에 대한 학교 행정당국의 인식 및 협조부족을 가장 큰 요인으로 생각했다. 이와같은 조사결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 통합을 위한 고려점으로 다음과 같은 제언을 하고자 한다. (1) 학교 행정당국의 인식 및 지원이 핵심적인 열쇠라고 할 수 있는 바, 행정당국자의 정책적 배려가 우선적으로 이루어져야 한다. (2) 원활한 기능을 수행할 수 있도록 충분한 예산이 확보되어 재정적인 지원이 뒷받침 되어야 한다. (3) 도서관과 시청각센타 요원들은 서로 상대방의 전문영역에 대한 이해와 상호협조를 위해 노력해야 한다. (4) 각 협회에서는 도서 및 시청각분야의 교과과정을 변화시켜 양쪽에 전문자격을 소유한 매체 전문가가 배출될 수 있도록 인력개발에 힘써야 한다. (5) 종래의 도서관에는 없는 현대적인 시설과 최신의 장비를 갖춘 교수매체 제작을 위한 공간을 확충해야 한다. (6) 다양한 형태의 교수매체를 통괄적으로 관리하는 새로운 통합된 체제를 마련해야 한다.
