한국여성을 대상으로 한 사회과학 연구에서의 연구 추세

Abstract

본 논문의 목적은 여성연구가 시작된 1950년대 말부터 1985년까지 30년간의 한국여성연구의 동향을 파악함으로써, 한국여성연구의 문제를 부분적이나마 올바르게 파악하고 앞으로의 과제를 전망해 보는데 기여하는 것이다. 그와같은 목적을 위하여 본 논문은 새로운 학문영역으로 등장한 여성학의 관점을 중심으로 한국의 사회과학분야 연구 중에서 여성을 대상으로 한 연구물 345편의 연구추세를 살펴보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 수집된 자료를 중심으로 시대별 연구추세의 일반적 특징을 서술하였다. 그리고 주제별 연구추세에서는 법, 교육, 운동 및 단체, 여성노동, 역할과 지위의 영역으로 나누어서, 연구방법에서는 시대별로 나누어서 특히 관점의 발전적 양상에 관심을 갖고 그 추세를 살펴보았다. 또한 관점의 차이가 분명한 구체적 사례를 선정하여 적극적인 재해석을 시도해 보았다. 시대별, 주제별, 방법상의 연구추세를 종합해 볼 때 다음과 같은 여성학 패러다임의 동향을 파악할 수 있다. 우리나라의 여성연구는 보상연구가 대부분을 차지하고 있는데, 그 중에서도 피해학적 연구, 그리고 피해학적 연구와 여성의 사회기여연구가 상호결합한 복합구조가 우세하다고 볼 수 있다. 모든 연구의 출발과 기준은 '억압' 이라는 전제로 부터 시작하며, 여성의 '주체성'에 대한 관심은 아직 나타나고 있지 않다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 남녀역할대비를 중심으로 구조적 불평등을 보여줌으로써 여성문제를 부각시킨다는 점에서 여성학의 '새로운 패러다임'에 접근하는 양상이 극소수이지만 주목할 만한 변화의 조짐을 보이고 있다. 이것은 앞으로의 여성연구를 전망하는데 시사점을 던져줄 것으로 보인다.;The objective of this study is to aim at grasping some trends and attitudinal changes in Women's Studies in Korea by reviewing 345 articles in the field of women's social sciences written from the late 1950's up to 1985, and also to suggest a 'New Paradigm' of feminist perspective in Women's Studies in the coming days. In Chapter Ⅳ, all the articles reviewed are classified in accordance with the times and subjects including law, education, women's organization and activities, women's labor and women's role and position. This study concerns especially on the development of feminist perspective and selects several articles as sampling cases proper on this new perspectives and tries to reinterprete them in this regards. It is understood that the Compensatory Studies is a main stream in Women's Studies in Korea, and among them, especially Victimology together with outstanding women's contribution in history and culture was a primary trend in the studies. All the articles reviewed presupose that women were opressed, but women as actors in history did not appeare in the studies. However, structural inequality in the society was pointed out in comparing asymmetrical male/female's sex roles which eventually emphasizes women's problems and paves a way to approach a 'New Paradigm' in Women's Studies, though they are little in numbers. This trend opens a new horizon in Women's Studies in the future.
