dc.description.abstractFrom investigation of antimicrobial activity in Scute decoction Ex. Scutellaria baicalensis Ex. and Marketing Scute decoction Ex., Scute decoction Ex. shows weak antimicrobial activity against B. subtilis and shows strong antimicrobial activity against E. coli and S. aureus and shows significantly strong antimicrobial activity against Shigella dysentery. Scute decoction Ex. 5㎎/㎖ and Chloramphenicol 50g/㎖ make Shigella dysentery be sterilized and Scute decoction Ex. 100㎎/㎖ keep as much MIC level as Chloramphenicol 0.5㎎/㎖. Also, there is almost no difference in TLC between percolation of Scute decoction and heated decoction of that. As a result of the above test, it is to be said that Scute decoction Ex. is a safety and natural medicine to let people be cured without many side-effects (Toxic reaction and/or aplastic anemia by bone marrow suppression caused from hematopoietic disorder happened as a result of blood reaction of chloramphenicol and Erythema angioedema and urticaria from allergy reaction and gastritis, entero colitis etc. and depression, confusion etc. and degenerative brain disease etc.) which happen to be risen when we use Chloramphenicol as a therapeutics for dysentery and acute enteritis.;傷寒論에 收戰된 黃芩湯은 옛 부터 寒氣, 發熱, 腹痛, 명치가 답답하게 느끼는 여러가지 病 특히 下痢, 胃腸카달에 쓰이고 있어 赤痢菌 Shigella dysentery를 비롯하여 Gram음성 및 양성간균인 大腹菌 Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, 포도구균 Staphylococcus aureus와 眞菌인, Aspergillus niger에 대한 抗菌性을 Chloramphenicol과 비교 검토한 바 眞菌을 제외한 腸菌, 赤痢菌 및 Gram 음성, 양성균등 광범위한 抗菌力을 나타내었고 또한 黃芩湯의 주제품인 黃芩만의 湯劑와 市販黃芩湯엑기스 와의 항균성 비교 실험은 黃芩湯이 市販黃芩湯엑기스 보다 강하게 나타났다.-
