現代발레에 나타난 舞臺美術의 傾向

Abstract

19世紀를 오페라의 世紀라고 한다면, 20世紀는 발레의 世紀이다. 멜로디 중심적 로맨티시즘의 시대로 부터 리듬 중심의 매카니즘의 시대가 낳은 必然的인 結果라고나 할까. 20世紀 初에 그 영예로운 문을 열어제친 인물이 바로 Sergei Diaghilev와 그의 Ballet Russes이다. Diaghilev는 그의 발레 舞台 革命을 통해 繪畵的 舞台 裝置를 발달시키므로써 무대미술이 특별한 극장 지식을 필요로 하는 특수한 예술의 한 분야이며, 발레 속에 무용, 미술, 음악의 三位 一體說을 확고히 浮刻시키는데 지대한 공헌을 하였다. 그로부터 半世紀가 흐른 오늘, 高度의 産業社會에 접어 들면서 視覺 환경이 폭팔적으로 넓어지자, 과거의 唯美主義的 視覺에서 인류 전체의 시각에로 復歸하려는 傾向이 짙어졌다. 따라서 발레는 視覺언어로써 어떤 다른 의사 전달 수단보다도 더욱 효과적으로 자신의 경험을 표현하고, 전달할 수 있는 視覺芸術의 하나로 비약적인 발전과 변모를 거듭해 왔다. 二次 大戰後, 그 발전과 변모의 혁혁한 기수로써 문제작을 내 놓았던 Jerome Robbins, Roland Petit, 그리고 Maurice Be´jart와 같은 현대 발레의 거장들과 크고, 작은 현대 발레 단체들은 "視覺的 효과를 위한 構成"을 위하여 무대미술의 스타일과 관념의 중요한 변화들을 現代 美術 思潮 속에서 찾으며 발레의 새로운 무대미술 발달에 박차를 가 하였다. 아마도 발레는 他 芸術의 발전 속에서 영향을 받으며, 가장 빨리 성장하고, 변화하는 예술일 것이다. 이러한 발레 속에서 오늘날, 시각적 효과의 中樞的 役割을 하고 있는 무대미술이 사회전반의 시대적 요구와 더불어 많은 現代 美術 思潮를 受容, 反映, 調和, 同和하면서 발달하고 있다는 점은 확실하고도, 명확한 사실인 것이다.;If the 19th century is called the century of "Opera," the 20th century is the century of "Ballet". It may be said a result of certanity produced by the period, from the period of Romanticism centered on melody to the period of mechanism centered on rythm. The able man who had opened the honourable door in the early part of the 20th century was Sergai Diaghilev and his Ballet Russe Diaghilev had greatly contributed to show the proof, by achieving progress the stage installation of picture through the revolution of his ballot stage, that the stage art was a part of the special art, and it needed special knowledge of theatre, and contributed to the establishment of the theory of the trinity-dance, art, and music. But is these days after passed a half-century from those days, the altitude industrial society made the envirouments of the sight-sense widen explosively, and the sight-sense of beauticism in the old days is recently inclined to restore toward that of the whole human race. Accordingly, ballet has how advanced ia a fast development and change as an art of sight-sense which is able to express and transmit his own exprience more effectively to others than any other means of trans mission as sight-sense language After the 2nd World War, many small and large groups so called the brilliant pioneers in the development and change of the modern ballet as Jerome Robbins, Roland petit, and Maurice Bejart presented a lot of work in issuing many subjects of discussion, and they looked for the stage of the stage art, and the important change of the idea for the composition of the more effective sight-sense, also, they added more speed for development of the new stage art. Ballet is an art influenced by development of the other arts, and be grown and changed in the fastest speed. In such ballet, the stage art which takes the central role of the sight-sense effectiveness in these days, it is a quite clear thing, needless to say, that the stage art which takes the central role of the sight-sense effectiveness in these days, has beeing developed in receiving, reflectiong, harmoning. and assimilating the treads of the modern art.
