부부간의 의사소통 효율성의 결정요인에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the factors which determine the efficiency of the interspouse communication. Data were drawn from questionnare of 58 items collected from 183 wives in Seoul, 15 items were chosen from the Marital Communication Inventory developed by Bienvenu to measure the efficiency of the interspouse communication. And 43 items were selected from a review of the literature as possible candidates for determinants. Anova and x^(2)-test were applied for statistical analysis. The results were as follows ; 1) Among the home situations ; age difference between husband and wife, scholarly attainments of husband and wife, the number of children, and the pattern of decision-making affected the efficiency of the interspouse communication. 2) Among the behavior and condition of communication ; timing and patterns of conversation, desire for communication, feeling for the duration of conversation, variety and agreement of topics, the degree of talking about events at home, husband's attitude toward wife's speaking, and the activities in holidays were significantly correlated with the efficiency 3) The degree of her satisfaction with marriage, communication, and husband had a strong correlation with the efficiency. 4) The marital communication inventory was tested to be reliable by factor analysis.;가정생활을 행복하게 영위하기 위해서 부부상호간의 의사소통(communication)이 무엇보다 중요하며, 바람직한 의사소통은 원활한 가족상호작용의 열쇠이자 결혼생활의 활력소이다. 특히 부부중심의 핵가족으로 점차 변화해가는 우리나라의 현시점에서 부부상호간의 의사소통은 가정생활에서 과거에 비해 더 큰 비중을 차지하게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 부부간 의사소통효율성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴봄으로써 원활하고 바람직한 의사소통을 통한 행복한 가정생활 유지에 도움이 되고자 한다. 본 연구자는 부부간 의사소통호율의 결정요인을 (1) 가정환경적요인(연령, 학력, 월평균수입, 자녀수, 결혼기간등) (2) 의사소통하는 태도 및 상황(부부가 함께 있는 시간, 대화시간, 대화시기, 대화장소, 대화형태, 화제의 다양성등) (3) 만족도(결혼만족도, 의사소통만족도, 남편만족도)로 구분하여, 이 요인들이 Bienvenu의 Marital Communication Inventory를 측정도구로 한 「의사소통효율성」과 어떠한 상관이 있는지를 서울에 살고 있는 주부 183명을 대상으로 조사하여 통계처리하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 가정환경적 요인중 연령차, 남편의 학력, 부인의 학력, 자녀수, 의사결정형태에서만 의사소통효율성과 의미있는 상관관계가 있었다. 의사소통하는 태도 및 상황에 있어서는 대화시기, 대화욕구, 대화형태, 대화시간에 대한 느낌, 화제의 다양성, 화제의 일치, 집에서 있었던 일에 대한 대화정도, 남편의 부인이야기에 대한 관심, 휴일의 활동에 의사소통효율성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 만족도에 있어서는 결혼에 대한 만족도, 의사소통에 대한 만족도, 8가지 측면으로 본 남편에 대한 만족도 모두 의사소통효율성과 통계적으로 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 본 연구자는 「의사소통효율성」척도가 우리나라 응답자들에게도 의미있는 척도로 사용될 수 있는가를 조사하기 위하여 요인분석(factor analysis)을 시행한 결과 타당한 척도임이 검증되었다. 위의 연구 결과와 같이 부부간의 의사소통은 여러 가지 요인에 의해 장애를 받을 수도 있고, 더욱 효과적이 될 수도 있다. 그러므로 부부가 결혼생활에 있어 의사소통의 중요성을 깨닫고 효과적 의사소통이 되도록 노력한다면 더욱 행복한 결혼생활이 이루어질 것이다.
