A. Soler의 건반악기 Sonata연구

Abstract

18세기 스페인을 제외한 다른 유럽국가들에서는 이미 오르간 음악은 쇠퇴하고 harpsichord음악이 발전하고 있었으나, 스페인은 아직 까지도 harpsichord음악보다는 오르간 음악이 우위에 있었다. 1729년 Italy 출신의 harpsichord주자인 Domenico Scarlatti가 스페인으로 이주하여 harpsichord 소나타를 쓰면서 부터 harpsichord 음악 발전이 시작되었다. 이런 상황하에 18세기 초에 태어난 Antonio Soler(1729-1783)는 D. Scarlatti의 제자로서 많은 영향을 받았고, 당대 스페인 최고의 건반음악 작곡가가 되었다. 그는 성악작품, 기악작품을 남겼는데 그중 120개의 소나타가 가장 뛰어난 작품으로 본 논문에서는 그의 소나타에 나타난 특징을 연구 하였다. 우선 본론에서는 A. Soler의 생애와 스페인의 음악적 상황에 대해 살펴본 뒤에 소나타에 나타난 특징들을 음악 형식, 선율, 리듬, 연주 기법 (technical device), 구성 (texture), 화성면에서 고찰해 보았다. 특히 D. Scarlatti로 부터 연주 기법면에서 어떠한 영향을 받았는가와 스페인 민속리듬이 소나타에 어떻게 나타났는지 알아 보았다. 이와같은 연구결과로 형식면에 있어서 D. Scarlatti의 영향으로 이부분 형식 (binary form)의 단악장을 많이 사용했으나, 후기에 갈수록 2, 3, 4악장으로 발전해 나갔다. 선율에 있어서는 순차진행이 대부분이나 7도 혹은 옥타브 이상의 도약선율 또한 많이 나타난다. 리듬에 있어서는 삼연음부, 당김음, 붓점리듬등의 다양한 형태와 polo, bolero와 같은 스페인 민속리듬이 많이 사용되었으며, 연주 기법면에서는 심한도약, 양손교차, 동음반복등과 같은 D. Scarlatti의 화려하고 어려운 기법을 그대로 받았다. 구성에 있어서는 대위법적인 것과 단순한 반주 형태에 선율이 있는 것으로 되어 있으며, 화성에 있어서는 감화음의 사용, 제 2전위 화음의 잦은 사용, 많은 전조를 사용하였다. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이 A. Soler는 단지 D. Scarlatti의 제자로서 그의 영향하에만 있었던 것이 아니라, 여러가지 새로운 시도를 통해 독창적인 면을 이룩하였다. 그의 뛰어난 소나타 작품을 통해 A. Soler의 음악을 재인식할 수 있을 것이다.;In the 18th century Europe, the organ music had already gone into a decline and the harpsichord music was developing However, in Spain, the organ music remained more prominent than the harpsichord music. It was when the Italian harpsichordist, D. Scarlatti immigrated to Spain in 1729, and started writing harpsichord sonatas, the development of keyboard music especially the harpsichord music-actually began. Under these circumstances, A. Soler who was born in the early 18th century was greatly influenced by D. Scarlatti as his pupil. Later on Soler became the most distinguished Spanish harpsichordist of his contemporaries. He composed many vocal and instrumental works. Among them, 120 of his piano sonatas are considered the most remarkable, so this thesis deals with the characteristics of these sonatas. First of all, this thesis mentions the life of Soler and the musical conditions of Spanish in those days. And then the characteristics shown by the sonatas are considered in the aspects of form, melody, rhythm, technical device, texture and harmony. In particular, what technical influences were received from Scarlatti's music and in what manner the Spanish traditional dance rhythms were expressed in the sonatas are mentioned As a result, the study of Soler's sonatas shows as follows; With regard to form, in the beginning his sonatas consisted of movement cast in binary design, but later the two, three or four movement much more. Though diatonic is dominent in the melody for the most part, melody of the interval 7th and octave or more is also shown in places. Rhythms are diverse; such as, triplets, sycopations and dotted rhythms. In addition, native dance rhythms like the polo and the bolero can be observed in many sonatas. In many of the Soler sonatas, the same technical devices employed by Scarlatti are found. They require brilliant and great technique, such as wide-skips, hand-crossings and rapid repeated notes. The texture of Soler's works are composed of the contrapuntal style and the melody with simple accompaniments. In harmony, Soler was one step ahead of any other contemporary composers, for he used many modulations, the rare diminished triads, in addition to the frequent use of triads in second inversion. After all, all these characteristics of A. Soler and his sonatas show that he was not only under the influence of Scarlatti but also achieved his own individuality through new experiments in many ways. Although Soler hasn't received the credit he deserves up to now, he should be considered as a great keyboard composer and his music should also be highly estimated through his remarkable sonatas.
