In the real market, customers purchase almost impulsively, affected by a mix of factors such as brand image, familiarity of models on commercials, friendliness of sales people, and ease of use in ordering systems. Not too long ago, the shop was a place that allowed consumers to simply view the display of products and purchase them- a simple ‘location for sales’. Only through sales were customers able to experience the various features and effects of the product, and were allowed trials for the product only through ‘testers’ that have been used by a number of other potential purchasers. Thus, consumers had to rely on catalogues and word-of-mouth information in order to educate themselves on the details of the product, or go through an intensive session of web-searching in order to find more detailed information on the product. The shop is no longer a boring place filled with the same products, and it certainly is not a place that shuns the non-purchasers. Armed with eye-catching interior furnishing and catchy music, shops strives to appeal to the emotional value of potential customers, by providing them with an unrestricted experience with their products. The age has come where shops play a crucial role in marketing, playing the role of communicator with customers. Experience marketing is competitive in the cosmetics market which primarily targets women. Samples were available for trials even in the past in large department stores, but in recent ‘beauty experience zones’, women are allowed unrestricted trials on diverse products, providing them with not only fun, but relaxation as well, through built-in cafes. The purpose of this study is to analyze and identify the general experience factors following the experience marketing principles through a case study of ‘The Amore Star’ by AMORE PACIFIC, the first to introduce experience marketing in Korea. This study is centered around a qualitative research based on customer observation, with interviews to supplement any insufficiencies in the observation. The study process consisted of formulating a general image map through observation of customers‘ words and actions while visiting The Amore Star. The image map was used as basis for an interview questionnaire, which was used to analyze the reasons for their particular experience. The next step involved a categorization of the observation and interview results according to SEM(Strategic Experiential Module), to analyze the specific reasons for specific experience inducing factors. The value of this study lies in the fact that it has linked experience marketing factors with design factors. In this standpoint, the study results can provide reference in selecting designs related to experience marketing. Further, it provides useful information in which experience marketing factors are analyzed according to SEM sensory, emotion, perception, action, and relation perspectives. The results of the study are as follows: Firstly, the experience inducing factors of The Amore Star were categorized into sensory, emotion, perception, action and relation factors. Sensory experience factors included eye-catching advertisement photos, visually attractive yet unified color schemes, interior design that drew eye-contact in a natural manner, and interior lighting that highlighted the products. Emotional experience factors included the absence of time pressure, trial tools that removed cosmetics products with ease, comfortable furnishings, casual attires of clerks, and an interesting (not boring) sensory atmosphere that include floor, wall, ceiling and lighting materials and other interior design factors. Action experience factors included the use of side spaces on both sides of the shop, while perception experience factors included make-up illustration boards, eye-shadow and lipstick corner, and special product corners that drew curiosity from customers. And, relation experience factors included diverse welcoming props that created a celebrity-like effect on customers, with the comfortable setting providing a free and relaxing social space for the customers. Secondly, the study revealed that all of the SEM fields (sensory, … ) of experience marketing were applicable. Thirdly, studies and experiments in experience marketing can be directly reflected on actual designs. The days of brand advertising to strengthen brand image and induce purchase and brand attraction are over. There is a marked increase in cosmetics companies that draw customers to experience spaces in order to allow customers to freely test its products and provide fun for them along the way. The underlying motive is the belief that customers that have been intimately familiarized with the brand have the potential of becoming bigger purchasers in the future. However, without the backup of a clear marketing strategy, in how to take advantage of these experience spaces, experience zones are not sustainable. It is especially notable that design related factors in such spaces play a crucial role, ultimately affecting the marketing results themselves. Brand communication zones that are designed to reflect the results of customer behavior in experience spaces will provide a powerful point of contact with customers, and play an important role in fortifying brand image within the customers' minds.;정작 시장에서 고객은 브랜드가 가진 이미지, 광고에서 보았던 친근한 모델의 모습, 친절한 매장직원, 그리고 편리한 주문 시스템 같은 다양한 요소에 영향을 받아 '충동적으로 구매'한다.
