Abstract
Purpose. The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare rheological properties of 8 elastomeric interocclusal recording materials and to investigate the effect of temperature on the rheological properties during setting. Material and methods. 7 polyvinylsiloxane materials investigated in this study were Blu-Mousse (Parkell), O-Bite (DMG), Stonebite (Dreve), Exabite II (GC), Silagum (DMG), Imprint Bite (3M ESPE) and Registrado X-tra (VOCO). 1 polyether was Ramitec (3M ESPE). The strorage modulus (G') and the loss factor (tanδ) were measured from 30s after mixing during setting, using the universal dynamic spectrometer (Model MCR 301; Paar Physica, Stuttgart, Baden-Wüttemberg, Germany). Viscoelastic properties were evaluated by means of G' and tanδ from 5 repeats at 21°C and 33°C. Individual changes during setting were also evaluated. All data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA and multiple comparison Scheffé test at the significance level of 0.05. Results. The mean of G′ (solid-like hardness) was checked at tset (the setting time provided from manufacturer) and t300 (the end of experimental time) and the mean of tanδ (liquid-like fluidity) was checked at t0 and tset. The G' at tset ranged from 0.01 (±0.01) MPa for Ramitec to 1.94 (±0.37) MPa for Silagum at 21°C, and 2.35 (±0.56) MPa for Blu-mousse to 15.40 (±2.81) MPa for Silagum at 33°C. The G' at t300 ranged from 0.72 (±0.23) MPa for Ramitec to 26.74 (±4.72) MPa for Stonebite at 21°C, and 5.42 (±1.86) MPa for Ramitec to 240.80 (±80.84) MPa for Stonebite at 33°C. Whereas the increase of the G' value showed linear changes at 21°C except Exabite and Silagum, the change of the G' value at 33°C displayed a sigmoidal curves during setting. The change of loss factor tanδ during setting varied. Conclusion. Within the limitation of this study, elastomeric interocclusal recording materials had different viscoelastic properties and most of materials showed different fluidity at 21°C and 33°C.;이 논문의 목적은 섭씨 21도와 33도에서 탄성 교합 인기재 (7 polyvinylsiloxane and 1 polyether)의 유변학적 성질에 대해 알아보는 것이다. 이 실험에 사용된7개의 polyvinylsiloxane재료는 Blu-Mousse (Parkell), O-Bite (DMG), Stonebite (Dreve), Exabite II (GC), Silagum (DMG), Imprint Bite (3M ESPE)과Registrado X-tra (VOCO)였으며, 1개의polyether는 Ramitec (3M ESPE)을 사용하였다. Universal dynamic spectrometer (Model MCR 301; Paar Physica, Stuttgart, Baden-Wüttemberg, Germany)를 사용하여 21도와 33도에서 재료 혼합 후 30초부터 300초까지storage modulus (G')와 loss factor (tanδ) 가 측정되었다. 모든 자료는 one-way ANOVA와 multiple comparison Scheffé test를 통해 분석되었으며, 유의수준은 P < 0.05였다. 본 연구로 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 탄성 교합 인기재들은 온도에 민감한 점탄성을 보였다. 33도에서의 G′ 값은 21도에 비해 유의성 있게 높았다. 2. Polyvinylsiloxane과 polyether의 storage modulus G'와 loss factor tanδ 값은 21도에서 유의성 있게 서로 다르게 나타났다. 33도에서는 Stonebite (PVS)와Registrado X-tra (PVS)는 Ramitec (PE)에 비해 높은 G′ 값을 나타내었다. 3. 7개의polyvynylsiloxane 재료 중 Stonebite와 Registrado X-tra가 현저히 높은 G′ 값을 보였다. Blu-Mousse, O-Bite, Exabite II, Silagum와 Imprint Bite 는 유의할만한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 탄성 교합 인기재는 서로 다른 유변학적 성질을 가지고 있으며 이는 온도 변화에 의해 영향을 받는다. 또한 storage modulus G'와 loss factor tanδ 두 값을 이용해 재료의 강도, 점도와 경화 양상을 비교할 수 있다.
