新羅時代 舞踊에 대한 史的 考察

Abstract

This Study has investigated into the origin and the character of the dances formed in the times of the United Silla dynasty in the context of the circumstances of the times. On this basis I will clarify the relations between the dances and the circumstances of the times when they are formed. Intensifying the ancient culture of Korea and assimilating the chinese culture, the United Silla dynasity could make a cultural advancement on the broader foundation. Especially in a religious aspect she built up a peculiar culture, which depended upon the harmonization among Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, on the basis of the fusion of inherent Shamanism and Buddhism. The culture of the United Silla dynasty with this character had great influences on the formation of Korean cultural tradition. Therefore this study focuses on the correlation of the dances formed in that period-dances such as Sangyeommu, Okdolyong, Gibaekgepgan, Sasunmu, Sunyouak, Cheoyeongmu, and Muaemu-with the historical circumstances. Sasunmu and Sunyouak that used to being danced at the Pal-goanhoe, the great religious celebration, are very splendid and magnificent enough to show the living condition of the noble class in that period. Muaemu has the Buddhistic character, because it were arranged by Wonhyo in order to spread Buddhism. Okdolyeong, Sangyeommu and Gibaekgepgan were danced in the end of the United Silla dynasty at the religious celebration for worshiping the God defending the father-land. And Cheoyeongmu not only shows the transition of the Dragon God to shamanic God, but has also been the origin of the shamanic dances and Shamanism. Because most of these dances have been formed in response of circumstancial demands through the Nol-Ⅰ(Plays), the religious celebration and national festivals etc., they retain the social and religious character of the United Silla dynasty. In this respect the study on the dances of the United Silla dynasty is of great significance in order to lay down the historical view of Korean dances.;本 論文은 신라의 통일이후에 발생한 무용들의 由來와 性格을 고찰하고 이를 시대적 상황에 접근시켜봄으로써 무용과 그 무용이 형성된 시대적 상황과의 관계를 규명하는데 주안점을 두고있다. 통일신라는 한반도의 고대문화를 집약하고 唐나라의 문화를 흡수함으로써 보다 넓은 기반아래 문화의 발전을 이룩했으며 , 특히 종교적인 면에서 고유의 巫敎와 佛敎의 융합을 바탕으로 儒·輝·仙이 조화된 독특한 문화를 형성하였다. 이러한 성격을 띤 통일신라의 문화는 우리 민족의 전통문화 형성에 지대한 영향을 끼쳤다. 그러므로, 본 논문은 이러한 시대적 상황에 중점을 두어 통일신라시대에 형성된 霜髥舞, 玉刀鈴, 地伯額干 ,四仙舞, 船遊樂, 處容舞, 無□舞의 시대사적 관련성에 촛점을 맞추고 있다. 통일신라의 국가적 대제전인 八關會에서 행해지던 사선무, 선유락은 당시 귀족들의 생활상을 보여주듯이 화려하고 장대하며, 원효에 의한 무애무는 佛法을 전하파기 위해 추어진 것으로 불교적 성격을 띠고 있다. 또한 옥도령, 상염무, 지백급간등은 통일신라 말 호국신을 제사하던 제례의식에 관한 神舞說話에서 찾을 수 있으며, 처용무는 護國龍神信仰에서 避邪進慶의 巫神에 대한 信仰으로의 변화를 보여주는 처용설화에 의해 형성된 춤으로 통일신라때의 종교적인 변화를 내포하고 있다. 이와같이 위의 춤들은 당시의 놀이, 제례의식, 국가적 행사에서 행해진 것이 대부분으로, 통일신라의 사회적·종교적인 변화를 잘 나타내주고 있다. 이는 당시의 춤들이 시대적 상황과 불가분의 관계를 지니고 있음을 보여주는 것으로, 다시말해서 당시의 춤들은 시대적 요청에 의해 형성되었음을 보여주는 것이다. 이상으로 볼 때 통일신라시대의 춤들에 관한 연구는 당시의 시대적 흐름을 알 수 있게하며, 이들 서로간의 관련성에 관한 연구는 통일신라시대의 무용에 대한 사적 체계화에 있어 중요한 역할을 지닌다고 하겠다.
