지각된 부모의 태도 특성과 자녀의 우울증에 관한 연구

Abstract

The view that parent-child relationship may be important determinant of personality and early socialization process in childhood has been maintained. Especially, the association between unsatisfactory parent-child relationship in childhood and mental illness in later has been studied for a long period. Parent-child relationship is dependent upon the parents' attitudes, parental attitude play a role of major importance determining the attitude and behavior of child. The possibility of relationship between the quality of the parental attitude in childhood and depression in adult is a well-known theory, although by no means universally accepted. In recent years, psychiatric nursing stressed on family-centered nursing based on community. Therefore, this study was intended to investigate the correlation of perceived parental attitude and depression in order to contributed to family counseling and psychiatric nursing. The objects for this study were 42 adults being treated for neurotic depression or emotional disturbance at the general hospital psychiatric dept. in Seoul (patient group) and 42 adults i n Seoul (normal healthy group). Research data was collected from the 15^(th) of Mar. to the 10^(th) of Apr. 1983, using the questionnaire of parental attitude made by Gordon Parker and depression inventory made by Aron, T. Beck. The result which obtained are as follow; 1. The depressed patients perceived a more negative parental attitude than normal healthy group in the dimension of maternal care and paternal overprotection. (t= -2.38 P<.05, t=2.16 P<.05). 2. The higher depressive temperament, the more negative perceived parental attitude in the dimension of parental overprotection, (r=.3325 P<.05) and maternal care (r=-.4894 P<.00l) In conclusion, depressed patients perceived less maternal care and greater paternal overprotection than normal healthy adults. Depressive temperament was negative associated with maternal care and wealkly associated with paternal over protection.;인간의 성격발달과 초기 사회화 과정에 있어 부모-자녀관계는 중요한 요소로 인정되어 왔고, 특히 유·아동기의 부모-자녀관계와 정서장애와의 관련성은 오랫동안 연구의 대상이 되어 왔다. 부모와의 초기 경험의 질 (quality)이 정서장애의 중요한 소인(predisposing factor) 이 된다는 것인데, 지역사회에 기반을 둔 가정중심의 중재 (Intervention)가 현대 정신건강간호의 핵심이 되고 있는 바, 가장 빈번한 임상 증상인 우울과 부모의 태도 특성과의 관련성을 파악하여 정신건강 문제해결을 위한 하나의 기초자료를 얻고자 본 연구를 시도하였다. 1983년 3월 15일부터 4철 10일 사이에 우울환자 42병과 정상인 42명을 대상으로 하여 G.Parker가 고안한 부모의 태도 특성 척도와 A.T.Beck의 우울척도를 사용하여 설문조사의 방법으로 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 백분율, t검정, 상관계수등의 통계방법으로 분석, 고찰하였는데 그 결론은 다음과 같다. 1. 우울환자군이 정상대조군보다 어머니의 돌봄(maternal care, p<.05)과 아버지의 과잉보호 (paternal overprotection,p<.05) 의 측면에서 '부모의 태도를 부정적으로 지각하였다. 2. 우울경향이 높을수록 어머니의 돌봄은 낮게 (γ=-.4894,p<001), 아버지의 과잉보호는 높게 (γ=.3325,p<.05) 지각하였다. 결론적으로, 우울환자군이 정상대조군에 비해 부모의 태도를 부정적으로 지각하였고 우울경향이 높을수록 부정적인 부모의 태도 특성을 보여주어, 정신건강에서 아동기에 경험한 부모의 태도가 차지하는 중요성을 재인식하게 한다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 정신건강을 위한 가족 중심의 간호에 활용할 수 있으리라 보여, 좀더 많은 연구대상을 보다 표준화된 도구를 사용하여 재검토해 본 필요가 있다고 본다.
