안동 놋다리 밟기와 해남 강강술래의 춤 비교연구

Abstract

In an effort to systematize and promote the Korean traditional folk dances, this thesis sought to identify thp characteristic elements of the two group dances for female, the Andong Notdarri Babki and the Haenam Kangkangsulrae, which have been kept in clear form. This thesis chose to make a comparative description of the symbols and functions of the two dances while analyzing their origins and forms through the researches of existing folklore data and fieldwork of the regions where the dances are best performed. Established as a seasonal pastime with a main theme of women's liberation in the male-dominant society of Yi Dynasty, the Andong Notdari babki has outstanding aspects of chanting spells for rich harvest, spring and creation. Whereas, the Haenam Kangkangsulrae, which has been strong,y affected by the natural circumstances in the farming area during harvest time, has features of imitative and satiric amusement. The two dances share common features of limited action of the human body's upper part, delicate and varied foot actton, and circular, spiral, linear and winding forms generally seen in Korea's traditional group dances. Also, the two dances can make their performers experience unity more easily than any other traditinal dances, as songs are usually accompanied by the dancing. To conduct a comparative study on the two traditional folk dances is thought to contribute to the identification of the basic spirit and forms that are pertain to traditional group dances for women in Korea and it is sugsested a continuous research be made on the possibility of utilizing the dances for the education of dancing while spreading them anong a wider population.;민속무용 분야에 있어서 원형 전승의 문제와 시대에 상응하는 재창조 작업을 위한 노력은 가장 기본적인 목표가 되어 왔음을 볼때, 민속무용의 체계화 작업을 위한 하나의 시도로 본 논문에서는 우리나라 전래의 민속무용 중에서 특히 여성 집단 민속무용으로 그 춤의 형태가 명확하게 전승되고 있는 안동 놋다리밟기와 해남 강강술래를 비교 연구하여 두 민속무용에 나타나는 춤의 특징적 요소를 밟히고자 하였다. 본 논문의 연구방법은 기존의 민속학적 연구자료의 정리와 현지조사를 통하여 그 근원적인 淵源과 춤의 구성형식 춤사위를 분석하는 한편 두 민속무용에 나타난 춤의 상징과 기능을 인접 학문의 도움을 받아 비교 서술하였다. 안동 놋다리밟기는 古代의 生産豫祝儀禮에서 비롯된 男女의 歌舞相會의 형태가 조선 유교사회에서 공민왕 전설과 결부되면서 擬歷史的으로 합리화 되어 여성해방의 계절적 놀이로 정착된 것으로서 춤의 성격에 풍요를 기원하고, 봄·生成을 간구하는 주술종교적 기능을 수행하는 일면이 두드러지게 나타난다. 이에 반하여 해남 강강술래는 상고시대 수확의례의 토속적인 圓舞가 임진왜란설과 관련되면서 널리 전파된 것으로 서민적인 농경생활과 풍부한 자연 환경의 영향을 받아서, 춤의 성격이 模擬的이고 풍자적인 오락성이 강하다. 한편 두 민속무용의 공통적인 특징으로, 춤사위에 있어 상체동작은 억제되어 있는 반면, 발동작은 섬세하고 다양하며 춤의 대형에 있어 우리나라 집단 민속무용에 보편적으로 나타나는 원형, 나선형 列形, 감어가기형 등 다양한 형태를 지니고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 기능적인 면에서 안동 놋다리밟기와 해남 강강술래는 노래와 춤이 같이 行하여 지므로 보다 쉽게 공동체적인 일체감을 경험할 수 있게 한다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 두 민속무용을 비교 고찰하는 것은 여성 집단 민속무용이 지닌 춤의 기본정신과 형식을 밝히는데 기여할 수 있다고 사료되며 나아가 원형을 파괴시키지 않는 범위에서 무용교육에 활용·보급하는 가능성에 대한 계속적인 연구가 있어야 하겠다.
