山의 空間的 表像

Abstract

The tendency of modern formative arts has turned to more rational direction with emphasis on effective value of artistic practicality, escaping from the past decorative style. Such a style, however, has gradually weighed on the importance of artistic and intuitive beauty to recover humanity of which we had been deprived with development of industrial society. Therefore, the present dyeing handicraft has changed its aim day by day from textile handicraft for practicality to aesthetic artistry. As we have experienced for thousands of years, art by human beings, although it sometimes may weigh on any style of tendency, is to be inferred from the organic relation between nature and living environments and returned to our human environmental conditions. In due consideration of the fact that dyeing handicraft always remains around our environment, therefore, this study aimed at how the figure of mountain being observed intuitively could be shaped in space on the basis of our human consciousness. Upon premise above, the formative point of view with a view t o shaping both the overlapped image of mountain and city and the intrinsic shape of the former and the latter's figure was established by examining nature and arts, nature's transformation, and the relation between form and space based upon theoretical background. From analyses of twelve works made upon such a formative point of view, the results obtained are as follows: I) It was shown that mountain adopted as the material was fit for expression of space with infinite possibilities through being combined into the figure of city and the space. Ⅱ) The formative construction of intuitive shape of mountain could be made as a simplified geometrical form and as a superficial form found in some new technique crumplaing and ironing the fiber itself. Ⅲ) Being expressed in light and darkness and overlapped, both shape of mountain and the geometrical form of city could represent infinite spatial sense. On the basis of empirical results above-mentioned, this researcher hope that new appreciation about nature will be transfigured continuously, and the meaning of this study seems to be in the possibility that the spatial shape of mountain can be linked to our living space.;현대 조형예술의 흐름은 과거의 장식적인 양식으로부터 벗어나서 실용적인 예술을 목적으로 효용적 가치를 중시하는 합리적 형태를 추구하여 왔다. 그러나 이러한 조형 양식은 인간성의 회복이라는 명제 아래 예술적 직관적인 美의 중요성을 인식함으로써 변화되고 있다. 따라서 오늘날의 염색도 실용성을 추구하는 직물공예에서 점차 심미적인 목적으로 예술성을 추구하고 있는 경향이다. 결국 인간에 의한 예술은 어떤 경향의 양식에 치중한다 하더라도 자연과 생활환경과의 유기적 관계로부터 유추되는 것이며 인간의 환경 안으로 되돌다온다고 볼 수 있다. 그러므로 본 연구자는 염색공예가 우리의 환경에 머무른다는 것을 염두에 두고, 직관적으로 관찰된 산의 이미지를 어떻게 공간적으로 形像化 할 수 있는가를 연구의 목적으로 하였다. 이러한 목적을 위하여, 이론적 배경에서 자연과 예술, 표현대상의 변형, 형태와 공간의 개념을 고찰함으로써 산의 본질적 형상과 도시의 형태, 산과 도시의 공간적 이미지를 형상화하기 위한 조형 방법을 모색하였다. 이를 바탕으로 작품 12점을 제작, 분석함으로써 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 山은 도시의 형태와 공간으로 결합됨으로써 무한한 가능성의 공간을 표현하는데 적절한 소재였다. 2. 山의 직관적 형태는 단순화된 기하학적 형태와, 섬유 자체를 구기고 다리는 새로운 기법으로 나타난 형태로써 조형적으로 구성할 수 있었다. 3. 이러한 山의 형상과 도시의 기하학적 형태는 명암으로 표현되고, 반복됨으로써, 공간적 이미지를 형성화 할 수 있다. 이를 기반으로, 연구자의 자연에 대한 새로운 인식은 변모를 계속할 것이며, 미흡한대로 山의 공간적 표상이 우리의 공간으로 이어질 수 있는 가능성에 그 의의를 두고자 한다.
