염색의 생활공간적 활용에 관한 연구

Abstract

From time immemorial, the human longing for more pleasant living conditions has increased without cessation. As for our country, the invading influx of western culture after being liberated from the Japanese governing for 36 years, has caused many changes in every respect to our life style. With these trends, our traditional interior structure of housing also suffered such changes, but the traditionally sustained necessities of lifer such as decorative and practical features have survived such a trend. But the exotic products imported from overseas, which are extremely sensitive to worldwide fashion are also widely available in our life. In our treatise, we intended to find out the way to manufacture and deliver the necessities widely suitable for our current housing style which is intermingled with our traditional factors and western influences. To be exact, we are intended to utilize the dyeing to lead a more brilliant life. First of all, we explained the practical function of handicraft dyeing, the characteristics of interior living conditions and interiors (interior goods) as a theoretical background in order to utilize dyeing practically in living environments. It is useless to say that the good design is needed for better product development. In this respect, to get a perspective what are demanded in the market, we took a market research. we analyzed the preferences revealed in the enquete from conversation with consumers to apply for real manufacturing of works. It is indispensible to be universal that things are most racial. But we come to find that the current application of traditional pattern is weak from the facts gathered during research. Therefore we did to induce our traditional tenlong-life things into our work, as a material for formative arts, but with simplification and modification. When we have manufactured folding screen, fancy mattress, Korean cushion, cushion, table cloth, sofa cover and twofold screen, for the interiors of apartment, we come to the conclusion that: First: Considering that each country is striving to develop his unique design, it is relevant to retrospect our intrinsic tradition, and to induce the things which are good enough to apply for the future. And we come to find that dyeing can be a good material for expression. Second: As our life becomes better-off, the interests in living environments has increased, and as our textile industry as a strategic export segment, is still in its growing tendency, we can have optimistic expectation that dyeing can be practically applied in conjunction with mass production of necessities of life. It can be conceived that the softness inherent in the textiles can contribute to the restoration of alienated humanity in industrialized society. For this purposer, the voluntary supports from the industrialist and devoted activities of designers are quite a lot demanded.;행복한 삶을 누리기 위하여 쾌적한 생활환경에 대한 인간의 소망은 계속되어 왔다. 우리나라의 경우 해방과 더불어 서구문화의 유입으로 전체적인 생활양식에 많은 변화를 가져오게 되었다. 주택의 실내구조도 크게 변화하였으나 장식적이면서 실용적인 생활용품은 그대로 답습되고 있거나 시대성에 따른 낯선 형태의 제품이 많은 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전통적인 한식과 양식이 절충된 오늘의 주택양식에 알맞은 생활용품을 제작 보급하고자 하여 우리의 생활을 보다 활기있게 하기 위한 한 방법으로 염색의 생활공간에서의 활용을 모색하려는데 연구의 목적을 둔다. 생활공간에 있어서 염색의 실용성 추구를 위하여 이론적 배경으로 현대산업사회에 있어서 수공예 염색의 실용기능과 실내주거환경의 특성 및 실내제품에 대하여 설명하였다. 좋은 제품개발을 위해서는 우수한 디자인이 요구되어지고 이를 위하여 시장조사를 하였다. 판매자와의 대담을 통해 소비자의 선호도를 분석하였으며 작품제작에 응용하고자 하였다. 오늘날 산업사회에서 세계적이기에는 가장 민족적이어야 하나 문헌을 통한 자료수집과 시장조사 분석에서 전통적 문양의 응용이 미약함을 발견하였다. 그러므로 십장생문을 표현소재로 선택하고 이를 변형하여 염색작품으로 표현하였다. 실제로 아파트의 안방과 거실의 생활용품으로 병풍, 보료, 방석, 쿠숀, 테이블 크로스, 소파 커버, 가리개를 제작하였으며 이를 분석하는 과정에서 다음과 같은 결론에 도달하였다. 첫째, 세계의 각 나라마다 디자인 개발에 노력하고 있는 현 상황에서 우리 고유의 전통을 되돌아 봄은 시대감각적인 일이라 하겠으며 이러한 전통을 되살리는 과정을 통하여 염색작품으로서 표현의 좋은 소재가 됨을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 우리의 생활이 윤택해 짐에 따라 생활공간에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있어 염색의 생활공간에서의 활용에 대한 긍정적인 기대를 갖을 수 있다. 더우기 우리나라의 섬유산업은 성장추세이므로 이를 이용하여 생활용품을 대량생산과 연결 폭넓게 대중생활과 접하는 가능성을 찾을 수 있다. 염색의 실용화는 천이 지닌 부드러움으로 과학문명의 발달에 의해 소외된 인간성 회복에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 보아지며 이를 위하여 사회적인 측면에서 기업인들의 적극적인 도움과 디자이너들의 진지한 활동이 요구되어진다.
