쪼갬과 결합의 과정을 통해 나타난 심상적 표현 : 석류의 생장과정에 따른 유사성을 중심으로

Abstract

인간의 활동분야 중 하나인 미술에서 작업은 단지 작업자의 의식과 기술을 보이기 위한 것만은 아니다. 작업자에게 있어 작업은 생활의 한 부분으로 환경 및 경험 등에 의해 많은 영향을 받는다. 따라서 작업은 그 결과만이 의미 있는 것이 아니며, 계속 진행되고 있는 과정 역시 중요한 의미를 지니고 있다. 그리고 그와 같은 작업의 과정은 단지 구체적으로 드러나는 결과물 자체에만 해당되는 것이 아니라, 그에 관계된 모든 활동에도 마찬가지인 것이다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 그러한 작업이 보이는 과정과 결과에 대해 지금껏 인간의 모든 활동에서 기본이 되어 온 자연의 모습과 연결 지어 생각해 보았다. 그리고 이렇게 진행하는 가운데, 본 연구자의 작업에 따라 선택한 석류의 생장과정에 따른 유사성을 중심으로 작업의 의미를 더욱 부각시키고, 과정에서 나타난 심상적 표현에 관하여 좀 더 구체화시켜 보았다. 그리고 이러한 내용에 따른 표현방법에서는 이처럼 살펴 본 자연의 과정과 연결된 본 연구자의 작업과정에 대해 생각해보고, 본 논문에서 선택한 재료인 돌을 활용하여 나타내었다. 그리고 그것은 쪼갬과 결합을 비롯한 파냄의 방법으로 표현하였다. 여기서 쪼갬과 파냄의 과정은 돌이 자연에서 보이는 작업과정과 연관된 것으로, 자연에서의 흐름과 변화의 모습을 나타낸 것이며, 결합은 이와 같은 흐름이 이루어내는 결실을 보이기 위한 것이다. 이러한 과정은 분열을 통해 소멸을 나타낸 것이 아닌 새로운 생명활동의 연장이라는 면에서 석류의 생장과정과 연결하여 구체화시킬 수 있다. 따라서 작품분석에서는 표현내용과 방법에 의해 7점으로 제작된 작품에 따라 쪼갬과 결합의 과정을 통해 드러난 심상적 표현에 대하여 석류의 생장과정에 따른 유사성을 중심으로 구체화하여 살펴보고, 그렇게 표현된 모습에 대해 분석해 보았다. ;Working in art as a field of human activities does not just intend to show consciousness and technique of a worker. Working is part of life for a worker and is affected largely by his or her environment and experience. Therefore, not only results of working but also working process are significant. And, the working process does not apply to only results expressed concretely but to related all activities. This study attempted to connect and consider the working process and result of working with figures of nature which have been base on all human activities. And, the researcher strengthened further the meaning of working focused on similarity to the growth process of pomegranate selected by works and more materialized imaginal expressions on the process. With respect to expression methods by such content, the researcher considered the working procee interlinked with the process of nature and expressed the figure of nature by using a stone of naterial selected in this study. Then, the figure was expressed by split, combination and dig technique. In this point, split an dig process are related to working process that expresses a stone in nature and show the current and change in nature, whereas combination process is used to show fruition made by the current. These processes can be materialized in relation to the growth process of pomegranate in view of not showing disappearance by dissolution but elongation of new vital activities. Therefore, for analysis of the works, the researcher materialized the imaginal expression by split and combination process in 7 works made by expression contents and methods, focused on similarity to the growth process of pomegranate, and analyzed the expressed figures.
