TI(Table Identity)를 적용한 Table Decoration에 관한 연구

Abstract

소득수준과 생활수준의 향상은 삶의 질에 대한 욕구로 이어지고, 실내인테리어, 홈 데커레이션(Home Decoration)등의 공간에 대한 관심이 증대되었으며, 먹고 즐기는 파티문화가 발달하게 되었다. 이러한 문화의 형성은 많은 사람들로 하여금 식문화와 파티문화에 대한 관심을 불러일으켰으며 그러한 이벤트를 멀리 있는 것으로 여기지 않고 생활의 일부분으로서 받아들이게 되었다. 홍수처럼 쏟아져 나오는 다양한 정보와 트렌드(Trend)의 중심에서 등장한 것이 P세대이다. P세대는 이 사회의 변화를 주도하는 세력으로 떠올랐다. P세대는 사회 전반에 적극적으로 참여(Participation)하면서 열정(Passion)과 힘(Potential Power)을 바탕으로 사회적 패러다임(Paradigm)의 변화를 주도하는 세대(Paradigm-shifter)이다. 그들은 기성(旣成)세대에 도전적이며, 인터넷 네트워크를 중요시하고, 개인적이고 다양한 경험을 추구한다는 공통점을 지녔다. P세대가 사회적 이슈를 만들어 가는 과정은 인터넷을 통해 정보를 공유한 뒤, 확산시키고 오프라인에서 집단적으로 의견을 표출하는 속성을 지니고 있다. 과거엔 대중매체나 공식적인 기관이 이슈를 만들었다면, 인터넷의 발달로 이제는 주도 층과 추종 층의 구분이 모호해졌다. 그뿐 아니라 인터넷의 생활화로 사회변화의 속도는 더 더욱 빨라질 수밖에 없다. 이들은 삶과 생활을 즐길 줄 아는 이른바 ‘행동력‘을 가진 집단이다. 바쁘게 살아가는 생활 속에서도 그들의 취미를 찾고 여가에 있어서도 즐거움과 재미를 찾아 나서는 적극적인 집단이다. 일뿐 아니라 그들의 가정과 그들 자신을 소중히 여길 줄 알며 가족과 함께 보내는 시간이 많아짐에 따라, 가정에서의 소소한 이벤트도 쉽게 넘기지 않으며 그들만의 재미와 즐거움, 특별함을 추구한다. 이들의 주거 공간은 평범하지 않다. 이들의 의식과 성향을 담고 있으며 주거공간은 그들의 기호에 따라 채워지고 연출되어 진다. 이 논문은 주거 공간 중 식공간에 대해 다루고 있으며, 이들의 식공간의 중심인 테이블을 중심으로 데커레이션과 테이블 화예(Table Flower Arrangement)를 통한 P세대들의 홈 이벤트 연출을 위한 작품 제작을 한다. 주거 공간에서 인테리어 디자인이 주어진 공간에서 주어진 자원으로 최적의 조화를 연출하는 것이라면 식공간의 테이블 데커레이션(Table Decoration)은 소품 등의 컬렉션(Collection)을 통한 공간의 연출로 테이블 전체에 아이덴티티(Identity)를 부여하고 인테리어 공간 전체의 컨셉(Concept)과도 맞도록 하는 것이다. 테이블 데커레이션(Table Decoration)에서 Table은 커뮤니케이션의 단위로서의 상징 개념을 지닌다. 테이블 데커레이션에서는 소재나 재료로서 테이블에 독창성, 특이성 등을 부여할 수 있고 그로 인해 Quality를 결정할 수 있고 목적성을 부여할 수 있는 요소로서 작용할 수 있다. 이처럼 예전에 아무 생각 없이 하던 일들도 요즘은 전문가 못지않은 지식이 필요하다. 이른바 웰빙(Well-being)이다. 먹는 것뿐만 아니라 집안을 꾸미고 연출하는 등의 생활의 모든 것에서 이제는 그저 ‘do’가 아니라 ‘do better’해야 하는 세상인 것이다. 홈 이벤트를 위한 테이블 데커레이션, T.P.O에 맞는 페이퍼 리넨(Paper Linen) 제작을 위해 테이블 화예(Table Flower Arrangement) 디자인을 모티브로 한다. 인간이 꽃과 더불어 생활한 것은 문자가 있기 이전부터다. 원시인들은 자기의 부족을 상징하는 꽃을 머리에 꽂거나 거처하는 곳을 꽃으로 장식했다. 생활이 넉넉해지고 여가문화가 발달한 요즘은 꽃 전문가가 아니더라도 집안이나 사무실에 꽃을 꽂아 장식하는 것은 생활의 일부인 셈이다. 작품 표현의 모티브가 되는 꽃이라는 소재는 테이블에서 중요한 요소가 될 뿐 아니라 여러 작가들에 의해 많이 다뤄진 소재이다. 플로랄 모티브 디자인의 경우 가장 널리 사용되는 디자인으로서 많은 사람들이 좋아하는 디자인이고 꽃이 아니더라도 넝쿨, 씨, 봉오리, 줄기 열매식물, 수초 등 식물과 관계된 모든 무늬를 플로랄 모티브 디자인의 범주에 넣는다. 프린트의 경향은 바뀌지만 꽃은 고전처럼 항상 우리 곁에 있는 가장 친근한 감정이입의 대상이다. 이에 작품 제작에 있어 T.P.O에 맞는 테이블 화예를 모티브로 하여 컴퓨터 그래픽 작업을 통해 페이퍼 리넨(Paper Linen)을 제작하여 TI(Table Identity)의 개념을 확립하고 페이퍼 리넨(Paper Linen)의 실용성 있는 제품으로서의 가능성을 모색하였다. 또한 판매의 매체로서 오프라인(off-line) 매장 뿐 아니라 온라인(on-line)의 매체의 활용을 제시함으로써 인터넷과 매체의 익숙한 P세대에게 효율적인 판매형태가 될 수 있다. 온라인 상에서 홈 이벤트의 T.P.O에 맞도록 구매자가 여러 가지의 조합을 통해 페이퍼 리넨을 선택 할 수 있도록 함으로써 활용 및 판매에 있어서도 효과적일 수 있다. 본 연구자는 작품의 문제점과 한계성을 발견하고 그 해결 방법을 찾고자 하였다. 또한 페이퍼 리넨의 상품으로서의 가치와 시장성에 대해서도 그 활로를 모색하였으며 P세대의 구매자의 특성을 고려하였다. 앞으로 다양한 재료와 기법, 새로운 소재로의 변화 등 지속적인 연구를 통하여 시대의 요구에 부합하는 테이블 데커레이션(Table Decoration)과 테이블 화예(Table Flower Arrangement)가 보다 낳은 생활의 한 부분이자 조형 예술의 한 분야를 발전시켜 나아가고자 한다.;In today’s society, things are changing constantly; therefore it is very difficult to keep up with the trends. If we want to stay up to date with the new information, technology and the latest trend, we have to approach our tasks with a positive attitude and an open mind. P-Generation has the most influence on many fields these days. They appear in the community and take initiative in the things they do. P-Generation is very positive and active from all spheres. They also lead the Paradigm-shift. As one of the up and coming generation, they impose a challenge to the existing generation. P-Generation is very energetic and lives their lives to the fullest. Even though they are busy with every work, they still seek for pleasure and happiness. They try to balance their lives, work hard but also try to have fun. In their spare time, they also try to spend some quality time with their families. P-Generation seems to be more interest in interior and home decoration; they value their home surroundings more than other generations. Residence spaces are filled with their own propensity and taste, they want to match everything perfectly. This study deals with the dining area and other various parts of a house. Dinner table is the center of dining area. P-Generation uses table decorations, flower arrangements and artworks for special home event decoration. Every season calls for celebrations and gifts giving, and each occasion is personal and significant in its ways, from romantic events such as weddings and Valentine's Day, to Christmas and new-baby celebrations. Table flower arrangements and table decorations helps us to make our birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or any occasion more special. Table flower arrangements can represent the ups and downs of people, and as they go through life, table decorations with flower arrangements are often called upon to mark their high points and share their joys. A good and successful celebration should reflect your own styles and shows your generosity as a host or hostess - something that is not necessarily dictated either by a tight budget or flamboyant excess. Table is a unit of communication in table decoration, therefore it signify a symbolic meaning. Materials and matters can bring originality and special features to table decoration. It is the most important factor that uses to evaluate the quality of table decorations and attain to serve home event tables. In table decoration for home events, Table flower arrangements are used as a motif for making paper linens to harmonize with T.P.O of an artistic pattern. Flower motif has been a very intimate material for a long time. The flowers are not only an important position at table decoration, but they also deal with the subject matters by various artists before, such as Floral motif design. The tendency of the prints is changed but Flower motif design is still the object of empathy. The Motif from Table flower arrangements corresponds with T.P.O to apply to make paper linen by using computer graphics, and then fit them together to form a whole Identity. The Motif builds a conceptual idea of TI (Table Identity) and search for a possibility of using the products practically. Table identity can be design with harmony and symphony of a whole scheme - its colors, materials, shapes and details. Table Decoration becomes an exciting prospect if you think of yourself as an artist and your table as a blank canvas ready and waiting to be painted. The colors, the styles, and the atmosphere you want are your own choice, your own unique palette. Through continuous study and research like application of diverse material and methods at table decoration will produce good results. Artworks can exactly correspond to the demands of times. Table decoration and table flower arrangement will become a big part of living and the formative arts.
