Felix Mendelssohn의 Sonata for Cello and Piano in D Major op.58에 관한 분석 및 연구

Abstract

멘델스존 (Felix Mendelssohn - Bartoldy 1809-1847)은 독일의 낭만주의를 대표하는 작곡가중 한사람이다. 본 논문의 연구 목적은 멘델스존 첼로 소나타 op,58 no.2 작품을 화성적 특징과 선율 등을 분석하고 그의 생애와 음악적 업적, 낭만주의 음악의 특징과 양식 시대적 배경을 연구하는 것을 통하여 보다 깊이 있고 폭넓은 해석을 돕는데에 목적을 두었다. 고전주의 형식과 한층 더 화려한 화성 진행을 보이는 멘델스존의 첼로 소나타는 총 4악장으로 구성되어 있으며 제 1악장은 빠른 소나타 형식,제 2악장은 기교 해학적인 스케르초(Scherzando)형식, 제 3악장은 아다지오(Adagio) 형식, 제 4악장은 론도(Rondo)형식을 하고 있다. 각 악장의 조성은 제 1악장과 4악장이 D Major, 제 2악장이 b Minor, 제 3악장은 G Major 로 되어있다. 이곡은 전체적으로 V7, 감 7화음 등 다양한 화음들이 병진행, 반진행을 하고 있다. 이런 특징들은 고전적이면서 낭만주의적인 성향을 지닌 멘델스존의 독특한 성향을 잘 나타내 주고 있다. 본 논문을 통해 독일 음악 문화 형성에 큰 역할을 했던 인물인 멘델스존의 수준 높은 작곡 기법과 형식, 보수적이면서도 진보적인 경향을 살펴보고 그 특징들을 연구분석한다.;Felix Mendelssohn-Bartoldy (1809 – 1847) is one of the German composers who represents romanticism. The purpose of this study is to analyze the harmonic characteristics and melody of the Mendelssohn cello and piano sonata op.58, his life and musical achivements. The characteristics of romantic music and historical background of its style has been discussed in order to interpretate his music better. Mendelssohn's cello and piano sonata op.58 shows the classicism style with splendid harmonic progression. The Sonata consists of four movements. The first movement has a sonata form while the second movement has humorous Scherzando form, the third movement has Adagio form and the fourth movement takes Rondo form. The first and fourth movements are in D major while the second movement is in b Minor and the third movement is in G Major. This music has a variety of harmonies including V7th and diminished 7th chord moving in both parallel motion and contary motion in general. These characteristics are showing Felix Mendelssohn's unique tendencies that had both classical and romantic styles at the same time. Through this study, I intended to study the high standard of compositional techniques and style of Felix Mendelssohn which was conservative yet progressive as well. As a result of this research, I got to realized that He played a major role in the formation of the German romantic music culture.
