R. Muczynski의 피아노 음악 특징 및 「Suite for Piano, Op.13」에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 로버트 무진스키(Robert Muczynski, 1929-2010)의 피아노 음악적 특징과 배경을 파악하고, 본인의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업 연주회의 곡목 중 하나인 '피아노를 위한 모음곡(Suite for Piano), Op.13'에 관한 연구이다. 그의 피아노 작품의 특징 및 배경을 살펴본 후, '피아노를 위한 모음곡, Op.13'의 분석을 통해 그의 피아노 음악의 전반적인 이해를 하는 것에 연구 목적을 두었다. 20세기 초 음악계에 새로운 사조로서 무조음악(atonalism), 12음기법, 우연성의 음악 등을 예로들 수 있다. 이러한 역사적 흐름 속에서 무진스키는 전통적 형식이나 소재를 사용하면서 자신만의 음악적 특징을 가진 많은 작품을 만든다. 무진스키의 작곡특징은 스승인 알렉산더 체레프닌(Alexander Therepin, 1899-1977)의 영향을 받았다. 무진스키 음악의 또 다른 설명은 “바르톡(Bela Bartok, 1881-1945)의 프레이즈학(phraseology), 바버(Samuel Baber, 1910-1981)의 피아노 작품에서 나타나는 화서어법과 포괄적인 수사학 그리고 번스타인(Leonard Bernstein, 1918-1990)의 멜로디 구조 안에 있는 블루노트(blue-note)...로 동일시할 수 있다.”에서 찾아 볼 수 있다. 이처럼 무진스키의 음악은 바르톡이나 바버 등의 영향을 받았고, 신고전주의로 분류할 수 있으나, 그만의 확실한 성격을 갖고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 즉, 무진스키는 신고전주의자라 불릴 만큼 전통형식을 즐겨 사용하였으나, 구조적으로 정확한 형식을 사용하지는 않았다. 무진스키의 피아노를 위한 모음곡, Op.13은 총 6개의 곡으로, 제1곡 Festival은 불규칙한 악센트, 리듬에 의함 헤미올라와 주제의 스트레토(Stretto)를 지속으로 사용함으로 악곡의 긴박감과 흥을 돋으면서 축제의 분위기를 표현하고 있다. 제2곡 Flight는 분산화음이 원형과 역행의 형태로 사용되고 양손은 교대로 연주되며 이는 하늘을 비행하는 모습을 나타내고 있다. 제3곡 Vision은 스타카토를 수반한 화음에 이어 대조되는 지속음을 중간음역에 배치해서 조용한 분위기로 도입부를 시작한다. 화음으로 이루어진 페시지로 점차 웅장한 분위기의 카덴차로 유도되어 곡의 절정에 이르고, 급변하는 다이나믹으로 절정에 이르렀던 연주로 불타올랐다 한 번에 소진하는 듯한 독특한 느낌을 전해준다. 제4곡 Labyrinth는 처음부터 끝음까지 계속되는 16분음표 페시지로 소용돌이치는 미궁 안에서 헤메는 모습을 표현하고 있다. 제5곡 Phamtom은 유령이라는 제목에서 암시하듯이 음산하고 모호한 분위기를 묘사하기 위해 오른손과 왼손이 각기 다른 장3화음, 단3화음을 병진행 시키고 있다. 제6곡 Schrzo는 자유롭고 유연한 리듬과 헤미올라 등을 써서 스케르초의 해학적이고 익살스러운 분위기를 피아노의 타악기적 요소와 함께 표현하고 있다. 피아노를 위한 모음곡, Op.13은 무진스키의 초기 대표작으로 피아노의 효과를 극대화 시킨 작품이다.;This paper is a researching for grasping the features and backgrounds of the piano music of Robert Muczynski, and it's about one of the song called "Suite for Piano" that is going to be played at the graduation recital for completing my master´s course. In addition, It is for versal understanding of his piano music by analyzing the song "Suite for Piano" after considering the features and backgrounds of his pieces of piano music. Atonalism, Serialism, aleatory music are could be mentioned as a trend in early 20th century. In this flow of the history, Muczynski made many pieces of music with traditional forms and materials, also used his own musical features. It was influenced by his master Alexander Therepin. The music of Muczynski is known It is similar with inflorescence periphrasis and rhetoric in phraseology of Bela Bartok and The piano music of Samuel Baber, also blue-note in the melody structure of Leonard Bernstein. Like this, the music of Muczynski was influenced from Bela Bartok, Samuel Baber. It could be said neoclassicism, also says he has his certain style. It means he enjoyed using traditional formality, but didn't use accurate formality in structure. Suite for Piano, Op.13 was made up with six songs. The first one Festival uses irregular accent, hemiola by the rhythm and Stretto of the title. It expresses the tension of the melody and the mood of festival. The second song Flight uses broken chords in the original form and retrogression, both hands play by turns. It tells us the flying in the sky. The third song Vision starts in quite mood by involving the harmony with staccato and places comparing continuant sound in the middle of range. The passage is composed with the harmony leads to cadenza in magnificent mood. The men who play this song could be exhausted because of the dynamic. The foruth song Labyrinth expresses roamign about swirling labyrinth with sixteenth note passage. In the fifth song Phamtom right hand and left hand use parallel motion for each different major triad, minor triad to describe dreariness and ambiguity. The sixth song Schrzo expresses free and flexible rhythm. It uses hemiola to say Schrzo's humorous and comical mood with percussional constituents. Suite for Piano, Op.13 is the representative piece of music of Muczynski maximized the effects of the piano.
