The late Sang-Gyu Lee(1944∼2010), one of Korean composer who held the post of a professor in college of music of Hanyang University and worked actively as a composer and conductor, has left as many as about 340 pieces of music totaling vocal music and operatic music, solo, ensemble, concerto, music played with percussion instruments and blowing instruments, symphony etc. Among the various work like this, an ensemble <Samjungju Seak> was composed in October 1973 and was played for the first time in the concert held by Korean Traditional Music Orchestra of Hanyang University. The explanation on the work that this work is composed of 3 movements, movement 1 is Jeongak style composed of time of melodic line and movement 2 is composed of rhythmic melody composition for the Gayageum and movement 3 is the composition that the melody of the Daegeum and the Gayageum is finished with the same slow melody as heard in movement 1 was introduced. The result dividing <Samjungju Seak>, ensemble worked by Lee Sang-Gyu into each movement is as follows. It is composed of total 3 movements and the expression mark ‘in the style of Jeongak’ is presented. Reviewing tempo, time, form, program by each movement is as follows. The first movement is played with in the tempo of ♩=ca40 and played with various times such as 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/4. It is divided into 6 phrases which are introduction part – A – connecting phrase 1 - B – connecting phrase 2 – C. In the second movement the tempo of ♩=ca65 is presented and it is played with 3/4, 4/4, 5/4 time. it is divided into 4 phrases and composed of D - E – connecting phrases – F. The third movement is single phrase where tempos of ♩=ca56 and♩=40 are presented and is played with 4/4, 5/4. With reference to program it is continued with various program such as solo, duet, trio across 3 movements. Among them solo for the Daegeum is 18 bars that for the Gayageum is 8 bars and that for the Janggu is a bar. For the Daegeum solo there are bars without time mark of 19 beats and 12 beats and there are times of 6/4, 5/4, 4/4. Each time is played for 2 bars, 9 bars, 5 bars. The Gayageum solo is played for 4 bars composed of 5/4 time and 4 bars composed of 2/4 time, and Janggu solo is a bar composed of 4/4time. Duet is composed of the Daegeum and the Gayageum, the Daegeum and the Janggu, the Gayageum and the Janggu, the Daegeum and the Gayageum are played for 26 bars, the Daegeum and the Janggu for 5 bars, the Gayageum and the Janggu are played for 23 bars. Duet of the Daegeum and the Gayageum are 3 bars composed of 6/4 time and 18 bars composed of 5/4 time, 5 bars composed of 4/4 time, and the duet of the Daegeum and the Janggu is 4 bars composed of 4/4, 1 bar of 3/4. The duet of the Gayageum and the Janggu is each one bar composed of 6/4 time and 5/4 time, 11 bars composed of 3/4time. 13 bars composed of 2/4. The duet where the Daegeum and the Gayageum, the Janggu are played all together are total 49 bars, and a bar composed of 7/4time, 2 bars composed of 6/4 time, 14 bars composed of 5/4 time, 8 bar composed of 4/4 time, 24 bars composed of 3/4 time. The composition of this music is D♭ major where 5 flat marks are presented and with reference to scale, scales used in playing Daegeum are D♭, E♭, F, A♭, B♭, C, and when playing the Gayageum, scales of D♭, E♭, F, A♭, B♭, C appear. In the first movement, based on the Jeongak form, the progress of menody which becomes near to be heavy was developed variously to be expressed in relaxed manner. In the second movement composer’s new trial can be peeped with an independent melody trying to express contemporary musical structure of melody not based on the technology of Jeongak but on the variously segmented rhythm and melody progress of folk music technology. The third movement, which is the movement to integrate the first movement’s melody structure of Jeongak and the second movement’s contemporary melody structure based on folk music, reveals the merit of Korean traditional music well. In the theme melody of this music, it is possible to judge that the composer utilized creative melody enough together with the melody of Jeongak and the folk music melody. Among Lee Sang-Gyu's several works, an ensemble, <Samjungju Seak> is the Jeongak-esque work and it showed the segmentalized ornaments of various directions with the movement of free melodies and the diverse odd meters. It mixes with three instruments, Daegeum, Gayageum, and Janggu and expresses effective melodies and shows unusual colors. The ensemble, <Samjungju Seak> is the work showing a suggestion that traditional scales and the beat of melodies harmonize with tradition and modern times according to each movement by using and the elements of Jeongak, the folk music, and the modern music. I hope this thesis helps those who want to play an ensemble, <Samjungju Seak> in the future.;우리나라의 작곡가 중 故이상규(1944∼2010)는 한양대학교 음악대학 교수로 재직하였고 작곡자 겸 지휘자로 활발한 활동을 하였으며, 그의 작품으로는 관현악곡, 중주곡, 협주곡, 취타, 독주곡, 성악곡, 극음악등 합하면 무려 340여곡에 달한다.
