대학기록관의 온라인 전시프로그램 개선 방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

대학기록관은 대학의 역사와 문화를 보존하여 다음 세대에 전달하는 중요한 기능을 담당하고 있다. 하지만 대학기록관의 필요성과 기록관리의 중요성에 대한 대학 구성원과 사회 전반의 인식부족으로 인해 대학기록관의 설립 활성화는 물론 이미 설립되어 있는 대학기록관의 운영도 어려움을 겪고 있다. 대학기록관의 존재가치에 대한 대학 구성원과 사회 전반의 인식을 변화시키기 위해서는 기존에 운영 중인 대학기록관의 서비스를 개선하여 이용자의 만족도를 높이는 것이 중요하다. 대학기록관이 제공하는 여러 서비스 중에서도 온라인 전시프로그램은 이용자가 원하는 주제를 선택할 수 있고 관람을 위한 시간과 공간의 제약이 없으며, 온라인을 통해 이용자와 기록관리자 사이에 소통이 가능한 장점이 있어 대학기록관에 대한 이용자의 인식을 바꾸는 기회로 작용할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 대학기록관의 설립 활성화를 위한 방법으로 온라인 전시프로그램을 제시하고, 그의 개선 방안을 제안하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위하여 문헌연구와 사례분석을 실시하였다. 문헌연구에서는 대학기록관의 특성과 전시프로그램의 개념, 온라인 전시프로그램의 요소를 조사하였다. 온라인 전시프로그램의 요소는 다시 온라인 전시프로그램의 구성요소와 전시매체의 종류, 정보선택방법, 개발과정으로 나누어 정리하였다. 사례조사는 국내외 대학기록관 온라인 전시프로그램을 대상으로 하였다. 국내의 경우는 9개 대학기록관의 62개 온라인 전시프로그램, 국외의 경우는 32개 University Archives와 13개 College Archives의 168개 온라인 전시프로그램을 최종 조사대상으로 선정하였다. 분석내용은 대학기록관의 일반현황, 실제 전시사례로 나누어 정리하였다. 국내 대학기록관의 온라인 전시프로그램은 대학기록관 웹 사이트의 메뉴 또는 퀵 링크를 통해서만 접근이 가능하였으며, 메뉴의 명칭에 전시라는 단어가 사용되지 않는 경우가 있어 이용자가 온라인 전시프로그램으로 연결되는 메뉴를 인식하는데 어려움이 있었다. 국내와는 달리 국외에서는 페이스북, 트위터, 블로그 등의 SNS에 온라인 전시프로그램과 연결되는 링크를 제공함으로써 온라인 전시프로그램을 홍보하고 있었다. 전시대상 기록물로 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 것은 국내와 국외 모두 사진기록물이었으며, 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 전시매체도 국내외 모두 텍스트와 사진으로 멀티미디어 형태를 가진 전시대상 기록물과 전시매체는 거의 사용되지 않고 있었다. 정보선택방법은 조사대상 국내외 전시프로그램 전체에서 브라우징 방식이 사용되고 있었고 하이퍼링크 방식은 국외에서, 검색 방식은 국내에서 주로 사용되고 있었으며, 가상현실 방식은 거의 사용되지 않고 있었다. 커뮤니케이션 수단의 경우 국내는 전화, 이메일 게시판의 형식을 사용하고 있었지만 국외는 국내에서 사용하고 있는 전화, 이메일 외에도 SNS를 이용자와의 커뮤니케이션에 활용하고 있었다. 위와 같은 문헌연구와 사례분석 결과를 바탕으로 대학기록관 온라인 전시프로그램의 개선 방안을 접근성 향상, 구성요소의 다양화, SNS 활용의 세 가지로 나누어 제안하였다. 접근성 향상을 통한 대학기록관 온라인 전시프로그램의 개선 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학기록관 웹 사이트의 메인화면에 위치하고 있는 온라인 전시프로그램 메뉴의 명칭에 전시라는 단어와 함께 온라인 또는 사이버, 버추얼이라는 단어를 포함하여 해당 메뉴가 온라인 전시프로그램으로 연결되는 것을 이용자가 쉽게 인식할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 퀵 링크를 활용하여 온라인 전시프로그램으로의 접근성을 높인다. 둘째, 대학 웹사이트에 대학기록관 온라인 전시프로그램으로 연결되는 퀵 링크를 배치하고, 공지사항 게시판에 온라인 전시프로그램에 대한 소개와 함께 링크를 게시하여 접근성을 높인다. 구성요소의 다양화를 통한 대학기록관 온라인 전시프로그램의 개선 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전시대상 기록물을 선정할 때 해당 기록물이 전시프로그램이 표현하고자 하는 주제를 잘 나타낼 수 있는지, 디지털 매체로 변환될 수 있는지, 이야기성을 담고 있는지를 고려하여야 하며 다양한 형태의 기록물이 고루 활용될 수 있도록 해야 한다. 둘째, 전시매체를 제작할 때 해당 전시매체가 전시주제와 전시대상 기록물을 잘 표현할 수 있는지 고려하고, 흑백 보다는 색상을 활용하며, 다양한 전시매체를 유기적으로 배치하여 최대의 효과를 발휘할 수 있도록 구성해야 한다. 셋째, 정보선택방법에 있어 온라인 전시프로그램을 통해 이용자가 얻는 지식의 범위를 확장하고자 할 때는 하이퍼텍스트 방식을, 전시프로그램에 사용된 기록물의 수가 많을 경우는 검색 방식을, 종료된 오프라인 전시프로그램을 온라인상에 재 구현 할 경우는 가상현실 방식을 사용하는 것이 효과적이다. SNS 활용을 통한 대학기록관 온라인 전시프로그램의 개선 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 페이스북, 트위터, 블로그와 같은 SNS에 온라인 전시프로그램에 관한 정보와 링크를 올리고 SNS의 기능을 통한 게시물의 전파를 통해 온라인 전시프로그램의 홍보를 활성화한다. 둘째, SNS의 다양한 기능을 활용하여 기록관리자와 이용자, 이용자와 이용자 사이의 일대일, 일대다, 다대다 커뮤니케이션이 가능하도록 하며, 온라인 전시프로그램에 대한 이용자의 반응을 수집·활용한다.;Although the university archives play an important role of conserving the histories and the cultures of universities and delivering them to the next generation, the revitalization of the establishment of university archives along with the operation of the university archives are undergoing difficulties due to insufficient awareness of the members of the universities and the general public for the necessity of university archives. In order to change the awareness of the members of the university and the general public for the values of the university archive, it is necessary to increase the satisfaction of the users by improving the services of the university archives currently in operation. Among various kinds of services offered by the university archives, the online exhibition program can work as the chance to change the awareness of the users for university archives, since it allows the users to choose the desired topics, without any constraints of time and space for watching, and enables the users and the records managers to communicate via online space. Accordingly, this research was intended to suggest the online exhibition program as the method for revitalization of the establishment of university archives and offer the improvement measures. For this matter, the literature researches and case analysis were conducted. In the literature research, the features of university archives, the concept of exhibition program, and the factors or online exhibition program were examined, and the factors of online exhibition program were organized again by dividing it into the components of online exhibition program, the components of exhibition media, information selection method, and development process. The case studies set the online exhibition program of domestic and foreign university archives as the subjects, and in case of foreign archives, 62 of online exhibition programs of 9 university archives were selected as the final subjects of research, and 168 of online programs of 32 university archives and 13 college archives in case of domestic archives. The online exhibition program of domestic university archives could only be accessed through either the menu or the quick link of the web-site of the university archives, and since the word 'exhibition' was not used in the title of the menu, the users had difficulties in recognizing the menu that is connected to the online exhibition program. In overseas unlike Korea, the accessibility of the online exhibition program was increased by offering the links that connected online exhibition programs to SNS such as the Facebook, and the Twitter. The records that were being most frequently used as the subjects of exhibition were all picture records both in overseas and in Korea, and even as for the media that was most frequently used as the exhibition media were all either texts or pictures, and the exhibition subjects and exhibition media that had the form of video or sound were rarely used. As for the information selection method, previous method was used in all of domestic and foreign exhibition programs, and the hyper-link method was usually used in overseas whereas the search method was usually used domestically, and the virtual reality method was almost never used. In case of the communication method, although phones and e-mail board were used, in overseas, the SNS such as Facebook, Twitter, and Blog were used other than the means that were used domestically. Based on the case analysis results and the literature researches as above, the improvement measures of university archives online exhibition program, were suggested by dividing into the enhancement of accessibility, diversification of components, and using Social Network Service. The improvement measures of university records online exhibition program through the enhancement of accessibility are as follows. First, make it easy for the users to recognize that corresponding menu including the word 'online (or cyber, virtual)' with the word 'exhibition' being connected to the title of menu of the online exhibition program located in the main screen of university records web site. Also, increase the access point of online exhibition program by utilizing the quick link. Second, place the quick link that is connected to university archives online exhibition program on the university web-site, and post the 'introduction' and link of online exhibition program to notice board. The improvement measures of university records online exhibition program through diversification of components are as follows. First, when selecting the records that are subject to exhibition, it is necessary to consider whether the corresponding records can well represent the topic that is desired to be expressed, it can be converted to digital media, and it contains the story, and it is necessary to make various forms of records to be evenly utilized. Second, when manufacturing the exhibition media, it is necessary to consider whether the corresponding media can well represent the exhibition topic and the records that are subject to exhibition, and use the color instead of black and white, and compose by organically placing the exhibition media to make the greatest effects. Third, it is more effective to use the hyper-text method when expanding the range of knowledge obtained by the user through online exhibition program, the search method when there are large number of records used in exhibition program, and the virtual reality method when realizing the terminated offline exhibition program online. The improvement measures of the university archives online exhibition program through the using Social Network Service are as follows. First, post the information and links associated with online exhibition program on SNS such as Facebook, Twitter, and Blog, and increase the access point to online exhibition program through propagation of posts through the functions of SNS. Second, make it possible for the records managers and users to communicate one-on-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many, by utilizing various functions of SNS such as the Facebook, the Twitter, and the Blog.
