구두 DCT와 회고적 보고 방법을 활용한 불평 화행의 전략 사용 연구

Abstract

This study is on the use of speech act of complaining. The oral DCT(Discourse Completion Test, hereinafter DCT) and the retrospective report method were used to compare and analyze differences or resemblances between native Korean speakers and Vietnamese learners of Korean in the speech act of complaining. This study has five chapters. The first chapter provides explanation about the object of this study and the need, also introduce the question which needs to be addressed after the review of advanced research. Next, in the second chapter, the first half discusses the fundamental concept and types of the discourse completion test and speech act studies using this. The second half explains speech act of complaining after recap the points of speech act theory. Thirdly, in the third chapter, it covers the broad outline of this study. Three groups selected for subjects in this study are all female in their twenties and late thirties, every ten in the each group, the total number of subjects was thirty. Before begin the experiment, in the preparatory experiment with nine subjects, we corrected details pointed out some procedural problems and the questionnaire format. Also we found out there’s a difference between native Korean speakers and Vietnamese learners of Korean, and realized the difference in disposition depending on the location among Vietnamese by compared them divided by two groups. Therefore, we adjusted the selection criteria of subjects, to make southern and northern Vietnamese to be selected at the same proportion in each group. The experiment proceeded for two months and the result of the experiment is introduced minutely in the fourth chapter. To sum up them, firstly, both differences and similarities were discovered among three groups or depending on where they are from. In a rough way, northern native speakers of Vietnamese language used the similar strategy with native Korean speakers, but in contrast, southern native speakers of Vietnamese language was quite a contrast to this. And this result in chime with the result of advanced research that separate northern and southern area that developed in Vietnam are very different from each other with historical background, lifestyle, politics, economy, and social events, these differences influenced directly and indirectly to members of society who from each region. In the second, as the issue in this study, it’s about what factors are there that influence the use of speech act through the retrospective report method. As the final outcome through this study, the fact that various constituents affects directly or indirectly to the choice of speech act was discovered with the consideration about cause and background of subjects. The advanced thesis explains in common between northern and southern, there are many differences almost entirely including historical background, politics, economy, community, and religion. In this respect, this study is meaningful that attempted study into the use of speech act considering the distinct characteristics in Vietnam, also it represent much to the study method on one subject that tried diversified methods to contemplate the process and the result. But this study has a sense of frustration in the way that the study method was intricate and required to spend a lot of time, so it couldn’t be proceeded with many more subjects. If a like-minded follow-up study is upcoming later, it should be carefully attended to existing loopholes of this study.;본 연구는 불평 화행의 전략 사용에 관한 것이다. 연구 방법으로 구두 DCT((Discourse Completion Test, 이하 DCT)와 회고적 보고(retrospective report)방법을 활용해 한국어 모어 화자와 베트남 한국어 학습자, 베트남어 모어 화자 간, 불평 화행의 전략 사용에 있어 어떠한 차이점과 유사점이 드러나는지를 비교 분석하였다. 본고는 크게 5개의 장으로 구분되어 있는데 Ⅰ장에서는 연구의 목적과 필요성에 대해 설명하며 선행 연구 검토 후, 본고에서 다루고자 하는 연구 문제를 소개하였다. Ⅱ장 전반부에서는 본고의 연구 방법으로 활용된 구두 보고 방법의 개념과 문제점 및 이를 활용한 화행 연구를 다루고 있다. 후반부에서는 불평 화행에 대해 개괄한 후 본고에서 사용할 불평의 정의와 전략 유형으로 무엇을 다룰 것인지 설명하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 연구 방법에 대한 전반적인 내용들을 다뤘다. 본 연구에서 피험자로 선정한 세 집단은 모두가 20대에서 30대 후반의 여성들로 각 집단 당 10명씩, 총 30명의 피험자를 대상으로 실험하였다. 본 실험에 들어가기 전, 9명의 피험자를 상대로 예비 실험을 거친 결과, 절차상의 몇 가지 문제와 설문지의 구성 방식이 효율적이지 못하다는 지적을 받고 이러한 사항들을 수정하였다. 또한 베트남 한국어 학습자와 베트남어 모어 화자 간, 동일 집단에서 피험자들 사이에 차이가 있음을 발견하고 이를 두 집단별로 비교해 본 결과, 베트남어 화자들은 지역 차에 따라 성향 차이가 발생함을 알게 되었다. 본 실험에서는 이러한 내용 또한 반영이 되어야 한다고 생각했기 때문에 피험자의 선정 조건 중, 베트남어 화자들은 남부 지역과 북부 지역이 동일한 비율로 각 집단에 선정될 수 있도록 조정하였다. Ⅳ장은 실험의 결과에 대해 기술하고 있다. 본 실험은 약 두 달 간에 걸쳐 진행되었으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 세 집단 간 또는 출신 지역 간에 불평 화행의 전략 사용에 있어 모두 차이점과 유사점이 발견되었다는 것이다. 대체적으로 북부 출신의 베트남어 모어 화자들은 한국어 모어 화자와 유사한 반응과 전략 사용이 있었지만 남부 출신의 베트남어 모어 화자들은 이와 상당히 대조적이었다. 그리고 이것은 베트남이라는 국가가 북부와 남부 지역이 전혀 다른 역사적 배경과 생활 방식, 정치, 경제, 사회적 사건들을 통해 매우 이질적인 형태로 발전되어 왔고 이러한 차이가 출신 지역의 사회 구성원에게 직·간접적인 영향을 주었다는 베트남에 대한 선행 연구의 결과와 일치하였다. 두 번째는 본 연구 문제에서 제기했던 바로, 회고적 보고 방법을 통해 전략 사용에 어떠한 요인들이 영향을 미쳤는지 알 수 있는가에 대한 것이었다. 결과는 본 연구 방법을 통해 피험자들의 해당 발화가 가능했던 배경과 이유를 고찰해 볼 수 있었고 이들이 최종 전략을 선택하기까지 다양한 요소들이 전략 선택에 직·간접적인 영향을 주었다는 것이었다. Ⅴ장에서는 지금까지 본 연구에서 다룬 내용들을 정리하며 본 논저의 의의에 대해 고찰하고 있다. 베트남에 대해 연구한 선행 논저들은 공통적으로 남부와 북부 간, 역사. 정치. 사회. 경제. 종교 등을 포함해 거의 전반적인 부분에서 차이가 있음을 설명하고 있다. 본 연구는 바로 이런 점에서 베트남이라는 국가에 대해 지역 간 특수성을 고려해 화행 연구를 시도했다는 점에서 유의미하며 하나의 주제를 탐구하는 방식에 있어서도 일원적인 연구 방법이 아닌 다각적인 방법을 시도해 결과와 과정을 함께 고찰했다는 점에서 의미가 있다고 볼 수 있다. 하지만 연구 방법이 복잡하고 많은 시간을 할애해야 하는 관계로 다수의 피험자를 상대로 진행되지 못했다는 점에서 아쉬움을 남긴다. 본 연구와 뜻을 같이 하는 후속 연구가 차후, 진행된다면 본 연구의 미비점들을 십분 고려하여 연구되길 바란다.
