현악 합주 초급 과정을 위한 스트링 빌더 교본의 교수법 연구

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze techniques, understand pedagogy and apply practice of ‘String Builder Teacher’s Manual, Book 1’ for the beginning instructional level of a string orchestra. The method of this study was to sort five sources of triangulated data from relevant original literature and translated ‘String Builder Teacher’s Manual, Book. 1’ in korean, participant observation of lessons, unobtrusive data collection of books, scores and lesson plan notes, peer briefing of the teachers and reviewing three professors of string, instruments and composition of western music as a multitrait and multimethod research design for trustworthiness. Data was analyzed according to five main categories as (1) theme, composers, key and tempo (2) intonation (3) notes and rests (4) left and right hand techniques, and (5) musical signatures and accompaniments. The ‘String Builder’ context of etudes’ theme and explanation was organized by the pedagogical understanding of the standards of analyzed techniques through coding results’ participant observation and unobtrusive data, and using technical and musical detail with scores and pictures. As results of the study, String builder’ teaching method on the rote project was used by Wohlfahrt’ musical pieces and traditional music, D·G Major and 4/4, practiced assurance of logical fingering and natural bowing technique with understanding phrases and articulation of music and applied piano accompaniments and second violin melodies. For application to etudes, first, the teaching method of strings is basically intonation of octave and open strings for controling left fingers and various tempo with bowing techniques in detache lance. Second, string ensembles get synergy effects through separated lessons with Carl Flesch scale system, Suzuki school and teaching method books for emphasized special techniques of each strings. Third, teachers and students can arrange simple musical pieces from choir or piano accompaniments to string ensemble. Therefore, they will be able to use this teaching method and application as technical and musical needs for their real performance.;본 연구에서는 스트링 빌더 교본 지도서 1권(String Builder Teacher's Manual, Book 1)의 연습곡들을 테크닉적으로 분석하고 이에 따른 교수 방법의 이해와 연주에 활용할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. 이러한 현악 합주의 초급 과정을 통해 교사와 학생들에게 실제 연주곡의 테크닉과 음악적인 응용을 돕고자 하였다. 연구 방법으로는 스트링 빌더 1권의 연습곡들을 테크닉과 음악적 카테고리인 (1) 제목, 작곡자, 조성 및 박자 (2) 음정 (3) 음표와 쉼표 (4) 왼손과 오른손 테크닉 (5) 악상기호와 반주의 기준에 따른 분류와 교수 방법을 설명하였다. 그리하여 연습곡들에 대한 해당 테크닉과 음악적 요소를 도표화하여 비중과 중요도를 파악하였다. 또한, 각각의 현악기의 연습과 종합적인 현악 합주의 연주를 위한 활용 방법을 제시하였다. 그리고 연구의 신뢰성(trustworthiness) 확보를 위하여 다특성 다방법 연구 설계(multitrait multimethod research design)를 실시하였다. 즉, 스트링 빌더 원서와 한국어 번역본의 비교, 현악 합주 레슨의 참여 관찰 및 녹음과 전사, 학생 및 교사가 사용한 스트링 빌더 교본, 악보, 레슨 플랜 노트 등의 비개입자료, 담당 교사의 동료 보고, 그리고 서양 음악 작곡 및 기악 전공 교수 3인의 검토를 통하여 본 연구의 내용 타당도를 검증하였다. 스트링 빌더 1권 연습곡의 교수 방법은 기본적으로 테크닉을 위한 반복 연습의 원리를 전제하였다. 연습곡들은 곡의 길이가 짧고 음악적인 볼파르트(Wolfahrt, F.)의 곡들과 학생들에게 익숙한 민속 음악, 개방현이 포함된 D · G 장조, 일반적이고 단순한 4/4박자 계열의 곡을 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 연습곡들의 음정은 개방현이 포함된 A, D, E, G, C음, 운지를 사용 하는 B, F#, F, C#음과 8도의 옥타브로 구성되었으며 분할된 4도 음계에서 완성된 8도 음계의 학습이 진행되었다. 정확한 음정과 연결된 제1포지션의 논리적인 운지, 기본적인 활쓰기의 데타셰, 그리고 왼손과 오른손의 피치카토는 자연스러운 오른팔 각도와 오른손 모양이 필요하였으며 곡의 형식, 프레이징과 아티큘레이션에 대한 이해는 음악적인 표현과 더불어 피아노 반주와 제2바이올린 선율을 활용하여 실제 연주를 위한 현악 합주 연습을 제시하였다. 스트링 빌더 1권 연습곡의 활용은 지속적으로 음정을 교정하기 위하여 옥타브의 개방현과 왼손의 운지를 조율하며, 데타셰의 기본적인 활쓰기 테크닉을 다양한 리듬으로 훈련한다. 그리고 바이올린, 비올라, 첼로, 베이스를 위한 칼 플레시의 음계 연습곡, 스즈키 스쿨과 개별적인 테크닉에 집중된 현악기 교본들과도 병행한다. 또한, 연습곡의 피아노 반주는 현악 합주곡으로 편곡하여 활용한다. 궁극적으로 학생들이 자신의 연주를 듣고 스스로 교정하며 연습곡들을 응용하여 실제 연주 능력을 개발시킨다.
