dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this book is to get students to read a variety of materials centered around two themes, (1)Diversity and (2)Overcoming Challenges, and foster their critical thinking skills. This book targets 3rd grade middle school students with four to five years of English instruction. Their English proficiency level is high-intermediate according to ACTFL. Some students have difficulty understanding and using some grammar items which do not exist in the Korean language such as articles or present and past perfect. The target students want to expand their vocabulary, read materials of different genres of different disciplines and grasp a more accurate command of English grammar. This textbook is for a reading comprehension class at a private language institute and mostly concentrates on boosting students' confidence in reading skill and grammar use.-
