아버지의 근무환경 및 역할 신념이 양육참여에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 주 목적은 아버지의 근무환경 및 역할 신념이 양육참여에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 아버지의 역할 신념이 근무환경과 양육참여 간의 관계에서 중재적 역할을 하는지를 탐색하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 만 3-5세 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지이며 질문지법을 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 아버지의 근무환경의 하위요인으로 가족친화제도의 시행 수준 및 이용 정도는 강혜련· 임희정(2000)이 제작한 가족친화적 복지제도 척도를 바탕으로 「가족친화 사회환경의 조성 촉진에 관한 법률」에 의한 가족친화인증지표에 근거하여 수정 · 보완한 문항을, 조직 분위기는 Thompson, Beauvais & Lyness (1999)의 조직 문화(Work-Family Culture)를 방묘진(2004)이 번안한 척도를, 역할 신념은 Greenberg & Goldberg(1989)의 직업 및 부모 역할 중요도 (Work & Parental Commitment Scale)를 서혜영(1999)이 번안 · 수정한 척도를, 그리고 양육참여는 최경순(1992)의 아버지 양육참여도 척도를 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지 보고용으로 수정한 조숙인(2010)의 척도를 사용하여 측정하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 18.0을 사용하여 중다회귀 및 위계적 회귀분석으로 실시하였다. 본 연구의 연구문제에 따른 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지의 근무환경의 하위요인인 직장 내 가족친화제도 시행 수준 및 이용 정도와 조직 분위기는 아버지의 양육참여에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 둘째, 아버지의 역할 신념이 양육참여에 미치는 영향과 관련하여 아버지의 부모 역할 중요도가 높을수록 양육참여의 하위요인인 여가활동, 생활지도, 가사활동, 학습지도가 모두 높았으며, 아버지의 직업 역할 중요도가 높을수록 가사활동 참여는 낮았다. 마지막으로, 아버지의 역할 신념은 아버지의 근무환경과 양육참여 간의 관계를 중재하였다. 즉, 부모 역할 중요도를 낮게 지각한 집단의 경우, 직장 내 조직 분위기가 가족친화적일수록 아버지의 가사활동 참여가 낮은 반면, 부모 역할 중요도를 높게 지각한 집단의 경우, 근무환경은 아버지의 가사활동에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 또한, 직업 역할 중요도를 높게 지각한 집단의 경우, 아버지의 근무환경이 가족친화적일수록 양육참여가 높았으며 직업 역할 중요도를 낮게 지각한 집단의 경우, 근무환경은 아버지의 양육참여에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 본 연구는 아버지의 근무환경과 역할 신념이 양육참여에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았으며, 근무환경과 양육참여 간의 관계에서 역할 신념의 중재적 역할을 확인하였다. 이를 기초로 부모로서의 역할에 대한 신념을 고취시킬 수 있는 아버지 교육의 필요성을 비롯하여, 아버지의 긍정적인 역할 수행을 위해 직장 내 가족친화적인 환경 조성의 필요성에 대한 근거를 마련하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.;The main purpose of this study is to explore the moderating effects of fathers' role commitment in the relationships between fathers' work environment and involvement in child raering. 251 working fathers in Seoul and Gyoung-gi districts in South Korea, who have children in the age of three to five, were examined for this study. The four questionnaires were used for the research regarding Family-Friendly program, Work-Family Culture, Work & Parental Commitment Scale, and Father's involvement. Pearson correlational analyses and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were carried out for data analyses. The following is the result of this research: First of all, a father friendly work environment demonstrated insignificant associations with paternal involvement. Secondly, committed fathers displayed greater paternal involvement in family activities, day-to-day guidance, household chores, and education. However, fathers who were committed to their career were hardly involved in household chores. Finally, father's commitment played a moderate role in the relationship between work environment and involvement in their child. Not committed fathers exhibited a lack of parental involvement in a father friendly work environment. And in the same working environment, fathers who were committed to career were highly involved in family activities. In other words, fathers who were committed to career relied on their work environment. The results underscored that parental role commitment is a very important factor related to father's involvement in child-rearing. This research was to be applicated for the educational program for fathers.
