어머니 불안과 학령 전 아동의 불안/우울 및 외현화 문제행동간의 관계

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate (1) the relationship among maternal anxiety, preschoolers' attachment security, preschoolers' anxiety/depression, preschoolers' externalizing behavior, (2) the moderating effect of preschoolers' attachment security on the relationship between maternal anxiety and preschoolers' anxiety/depression and (3) the moderating effect of preschoolers' attachment security on the relationship between maternal anxiety and preschoolers' externalizing behavior. The subjects in this study were 143 pairs of mathers and preschoolers from in Seoul. Data were collected using three kinds of questionnaires on maternal anxiety, preschoolers' attachment security and preschoolers' behavior problem. Maternal anxiety was measured by the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale, preschoolers' attachment security was measured by Q-sort, and preschoolers' anxiety/depression, externalizing behavior was measured by CBCL 1.5-5. Data was analyzed by correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follow. First, there was positive correlation between maternal anxiety and preschoolers' anxiety/depression. Preschoolers who have anxious mother have more externalizing behavior problem than not. Preschoolers' attachment security has negative correlation with their anxiety/depression and externalizing behavior. Second, preschoolers' attachment security moderates the relationship between maternal anxiety and preschoolers' anxiety/depression. In other words, preschooler who has anxious mother but has high attachment securtity with his mother could not have anxiety/depression problem. Third, preschoolers' attachment security has the main effect on the relationship between maternal anxiety and preschoolers' externalizing behavior. But attachment security doesn't moderate the relationship between maternal anxiety and preschoolers' externalizing behavior problem.;본 연구는 어머니 불안과 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성, 아동의 불안/우울 및 외현화 문제행동 간의 연관성을 살펴보고, 아동의 애착 안정성이 어머니의 불안과 아동의 불안/우울간의 관계를 조절하는지, 아동의 애착 안정성이 어머니의 불안과 아동의 외현화 문제행동 사이의 관계를 조절하는지를 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서 사용한 척도는 어머니 불안 척도, 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성 척도, 아동의 문제행동 척도이다. 어머니 불안 척도는 삼원 이론에 입각하여 우울을 통제한 고유한 불안을 측정할 수 있도록 제작된 Zigmund와 Snaith(1983)의 병원 불안 척도를 오세만 등(1999)이 번안한 것을 사용하였다. 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성 척도는 Waters와 Deane(1985)이 제작한 애착 Q-set의 개정판을 이영 등(1997)이 번안한 것을 활용하였다. 마지막으로, Achenbach와 Rescorla(2000)가 개발한 부모용 유아 행동평가척도를 오경자 등(2009)이 번안한 것을 이용해 학령 전 아동의 불안/우울, 외현화 문제행동을 동시에 측정하였다. 연구 분석을 위해 서울 지역의 어린이집에 다니고 있는 36～60개월의 학령 전 아동과 그들의 어머니를 표집하였고, 설문지 배부 및 수거는 약 한 달 간 어린이집 교사를 통해 이루어졌다. 최종 연구 분석에 사용된 사례 수는 학령 전 아동과 어머니 143쌍이었다. 주요 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 불안은 학령 전 아동의 불안/우울 및 학령 전 아동의 외현화 문제행동과 중간 크기의 정적 상관을 보였다. 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성은 학령 전 아동의 불안/우울 및 학령 전 아동의 외현화 문제행동과 유의하게 큰 부적 상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성은 어머니 불안과 학령 전 아동의 불안/우울 간의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성 수준에 따라 불안한 어머니를 둔 학령 전 아동이라도 불안/우울 문제를 갖지 않는다. 셋째, 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성은 어머니 불안과 학령 전 아동의 외현화 문제행동 간의 관계에 대해 유의한 주 효과를 보였지만, 상호작용 효과는 유의하지 않았다. 다시 말해, 어머니의 불안을 통제한 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성은 학령 전 아동의 외현화 문제행동과 관련이 되었지만, 어머니 불안이 학령 전 아동의 외현화 문제행동에 미치는 부정적인 영향력을 학령 전 아동의 애착 안정성이 완충해주지는 않는 것으로 나타났다.
