스포츠 스타 이미지가 대학생의 교양체육 인식 및 참여에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 스포츠 스타가 대학생의 교양체육 인식 및 참여에 영향을 미친다고 보고 그 핵심 요인으로 스포츠 스타 이미지를 설정하였다. 스포츠 스타 이미지가 교양체육 인식 및 참여에 긍정 · 부정적 영향을 미친다는 전제를 바탕으로 하고 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 스포츠 스타 이미지의 어떠한 요인이 교양체육 인식 및 참여에 어느 정도 유의한 영향을 주는가를 분석하여 스포츠 스타의 이미지 제고에 실증적 자료를 제공하고, 대학 교양체육 참여 활성화를 위한 스포츠 스타의 역할을 제시하고자 이 연구를 수행하게 되었다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2011년 4월부터 5월까지 서울시와 경기도 지역에서 교양체육이 이루어지고 있는 6개 대학교를 선정하여 510부를 표집 하였으며, 좋아하는 스포츠 스타가 없거나 응답내용이 불성실하여 신뢰성이 없다고 판단되는 69부를 분석대상에서 제외시켰다. 표집한 설문지 중 분석 가능한 441부의 표본을 부호화 하여 코딩작업을 한 후, 빈도분석, t-test, 상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시해 자료를 분석하였으며, SPSS 12.0 프로그램을 사용하여 통계 처리한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 성별에 따른 스포츠 스타 이미지에서는 남학생이 여학생보다 긍정적으로 인식하였으며, 남학생과 여학생은 스포츠 스타 이미지 중 외형적 요인에서 유의한 인식의 차이가 나타났으며, 남학생과 여학생 모두 운동수행적 이미지, 외형적 이미지, 진취적 이미지 순으로 높은 반응을 보였다. 또한 성별에 따른 교양체육에 대한 인식에서는 남학생이 여학생보다 긍정적으로 인식하였으며, 남학생과 여학생 모두 교양체육을 수강한 후 다른 학생들에게 추천 하고 싶다는 문항에 가장 높게 반응하였다. 스포츠 스타 이미지가 교양체육 인식에 미치는 영향에서는 스포츠 스타의 이미지 중 외형적 이미지, 운동수행적 이미지 순으로 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 도덕적 이미지, 진취적 이미지는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 스포츠 스타 이미지가 교양체육 참여에 미치는 영향에서는 전체적으로 남학생이 여학생보다 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 직접 참여에서 남자 대학생의 경우 스포츠 스타 이미지 중 외형적 이미지, 운동수행적 이미지, 진취적 이미지 순으로 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 여자 대학생의 경우 스포츠 스타 이미지 중 운동수행적 이미지, 진취적 이미지, 외형적 이미지 순으로 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 간접 참여에서 남자 대학생의 경우 스포츠 스타 이미지 중 외형적 이미지, 진취적 이미지, 운동수행적 이미지, 도덕적 이미지 순으로 모든 요인에서 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여자 대학생의 경우 스포츠 스타 이미지 중 운동수행적 이미지, 진취적 이미지, 외형적 이미지 순으로 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 도덕적 이미지는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 스포츠 스타의 이미지가 대학 내 스포츠의 한 형태인 교양체육과 유의한 상관관계가 있다고 보았을 때, 스포츠 스타들은 대중문화를 이끌어가는 공인으로서 스포츠의 긍정적 인식 및 참여를 위해 항상 노력하는 모습을 보여주어야 한다고 생각된다.;This study constructs a sports star image that might serve as a key factor that influences the cognition of and participation in the cultural physical education for university students. We assume that a sports star image positively and negatively affects the cognition of and participation in the education. Therefore, this study analyzes the extent to which a certain factor of a sports start image significantly influences the cognition and participation and then provides the empirical information, thus enhancing a sports star image. Further, it suggests the desirable role of sports stars to activate physical educations in a university. For the purposes, we collected 510 samples from the six universities with a cultural physical education in Seoul and Gyeonggi province from April to May 2011. We took out 69 unreliable and faithless respondents and coded 441 testable respondents with which we did frequency test, t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Using SPSS 12.0, we draw a conclusion as followings: Male students tend to more positively perceive a sports star image than do female students. There is a significant difference in the cognition of appearance factor, one of sports star images between male and female students. Both male and female students show a high degree of responds in the order of sports performance, appearance, and promising images. Male students tend to more positively perceive a cultural physical education than do female students. Both of them most positively responded to the item that they want to recommend others after taking a cultural physical education. Regarding the effect of a sports star image on the perception of a cultural physical education, appearance image and sports performance image subsequently represented an high degree of an impact, while ethical and promising image turned not to have a significant impact. Regarding the effect of a sports star image on the participation in a cultural physical education, male students tend to have a more significant impact than do female students. Direct participation for male university students, appearance, sports-performance, and promising images subsequently impacted on the participation in a cultural physical education. For female university students, sports-performance, promising, and appearance image sequentially turned out to have a significant impact while ethical image did not. Indirect participation for male university students, appearance, promising, and sports-performance, and ethical image turned to significantly affect in a sequential order. For female university students, sports performance, promising, and appearance image turned out to have a significant effect in a sequential order while ethical image did not.
