중국 소수민족 도시 다국어 사인 시스템 연구

Abstract

In recent years, there are more and more foreigners travelling to China. Not only center cities such like Beijing, Shanghai, but also more and more inland cities. According a China travel site says, the number of foreigners who traveled in mainland of China from Jan to Sep, 2011 has been more than 2 millions. And also, as a big city of the inner Mongolia, Baotou has a special culture of the west region of China. Therefore, the number of foreigners who travel in Baotou is 21.3% more than last year’s. As a result, there are some problems in communicating between Baotou city and foreigners. The sign is the most useful and intuitive way. Sign is the most useful way for foreigners while their travel. And it also can transform the information and advertise the city images. According to this research, because there are a lot of problems in the signs in Baotou city, especially there is no sign for foreigners, plenty of troubles have been made. There are two main problems in sign system of Baotou. Those are function and beauty. Function problem is talking about communicating with foreign travelers and not enough signs. Beauty problem is talking about confusion and no advertising about the Baotou city. My conclusion is that Baotou city needs a sign system design with functional and beauty. For this reason, this research has two purposes. First of all, find out a multiple languages sign system design with function which can deliver information to foreign travelers. Multiple languages mean that using accurate and clear various languages for foreign travelers to understand the information conveniently. Secondly, find out a beautiful sign system design which can promote Baotou city’s images. In other words, as a Mongolian region city, Baotou needs a multiple languages sign system design to reflect .This multiple languages sign system improving research targeted Baotou citizens and foreigners and be finished by means of necessarily theoretical observing and field investigations, visual form analysis of every language, visual form analysis of Mongolian region features, specific multiple language case research. The result of this research, which is multiple language sign system with Mongolian features, not only can provide functional effects, but also improve the favorability about Baotou through beauty design. When there are some troubles in communication, in order to communicate clearly, it is more efficient and useful to use a written language than speaking. In addition, multiple language sign system with Mongolian features not only can improve circumstances of Baotou, but can also increase favorability about Baotou city when the Baotou citizens and foreign travelers walking around it.;최근 몇 년 동안 중국에 관광을 오는 외국인 관광객들이 날로 늘어가고 있다. 중국 관광의 중심 지역은 베이징 상하이 같은 대도시부터 중국 내지로 확장하기도 한다. 중국의 관광여행 사이트 第 一 旅 游 網（www.toptour.cn）에서는 2011년 1월부터 12월까지 중국 대륙에 온 외국인 관광객들의 양이 2500만 명을 초과하였다는 것을 발표했다. 또한 바오터우시는 중국 몽골족 지역의 가장 큰 도시로서 중국 서부 문화와 몽골 문화를 체험하러 오는 외국인 관광객 수가 신속하게 증가하고 있다고 바오터우시 관광 공사가 발표했다. 이러한 외국인 관광객들의 증가로 인해 바오터우시와 외국인 관광객 사이에 의사소통이 가장 큰 문제점으로 대두 되었다. 가장 효과적이고 직관적인 의사소통의 수단은 사인(sign)이다. 사인(sign)은 외국인 관광객들이 여행 중에 가장 많이 접하는 매체이다. 또한 관광객들에게 정보 전달을 하는 역할을 하고 있고 도시의 이미지를 홍보하는 역할도 하고 있다. 그러나 조사에 의하면, 실제 바오터우시 내에 있는 사인(sign)들은 많은 문제점을 갖고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 특히 외국인 관광객을 위한 사인(sign)이 거의 없어서 외국인 관광객들에게 여러 불편한 점을 초래하고 있다. 바오터우시 사인 시스템(sign system)의 문제점은 크게 두 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 즉 기능적 문제점과 심미적 문제점이다. 기능적 문제점은 외국인 관광객과의 의사소통 문제, 사인(sign)이 부족한 문제를 포함하며 심미적 문제점은 사인(sign)이 난잡하고 바오터우시의 이미지를 홍보하지 못 하는 점이 포함한다. 결론적으로 바오터우시는 기능적이고 심미적인 사인 시스템(sign system) 디자인이 필요한 것이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 두 가지로 정해 질 수 있다. 첫째, 외국인 관광객들에게 정보 전달을 할 수 있는 기능적인 다국어 사인 시스템(sign system) 디자인을 제안하는 것이다. 다국어 사인(sign)이란 여러 언어 텍스트를 병용해서 정확하고 명확하게 사인에 명시하여 외국인 관광객들이 편하게 정보를 이용 할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 둘째, 바오터우시의 이미지를 홍보하는 도시의 특성을 갖고 있는 심미적인 사인 시스템(sign system) 디자인을 추구하는 것이다. 다시 말해, 바오터우시는 몽골족 지역 도시이기 때문에 몽골족 도시 특성을 체현할 수 있는 다국어 사인 시스템(sign system) 디자인이 필요하다는 뜻이다. 이들에 필요한 이론적 고찰과 현장 조사, 각 언어의 시각적 형태분석, 몽골족 지역 특징의 시각적 분석, 구체적인 다국어 사인(sign) 사례 연구를 통해 다국어 사인 시스템(sign system) 디자인 개선방안을 제작하며 바오터우시 시민들과 외국인들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 몽골족 민족 특징을 갖고 있는 다국어 사인 시스템(sign system)은 외국인 관광객들에게 기능적으로 유용한 역할을 할 뿐만 아니라 심미적으로도 호감도가 높아지고 바오터우시의 이미지도 효과적으로 홍보하기 때문에 그 수요는 앞으로도 커질 수밖에 없고 본 연구의 필요성을 확인할 수 있다. 의사소통에 대해 어려움이 있는 경우, 정보 전달 수단으로서 명백한 전달 역할을 하기 위해서는 말하는 것보다 문자가 더 효과적이고 효율적이다. 또한 몽골족 특징을 갖고 있는 다국어 사인 시스템(sign system)은 바오터우시의 도시 환경을 좋은 방향으로 개선할 뿐만 아니라 외국인 관광객과 바오터우시 시민들에게도 도시에 대해 신뢰감을 높일 수 있으며, 도시를 돌아다니면서 기분도 좋아지게 할 수 있다.
