韓國開化期飜案小說硏究

Abstract

飜案이란 一國의 文學이 言語의 國境線을 넘어서 다른 나라와 授受關係가 이루어진 것으로서 比較文學의 重要 課題가 되고 있다. 우리나라 開化期에 盛行한 飜案小說에 대해 지금까지는 國文學史의 汚点이라는 否定的인 側面에만 偏重되어 왔고 , 그 理論的인 硏究는 있었지만 作品 自體에 대한 硏究는 未洽한 것 같다. 그러므로 本考에서는 이에 着眼하여 飜案에 대한 終來의 槪念 規定을 살펴보고, 飜案小說 「明月亭」·「杜鵑聲」·「海王星」을 각각 그 原典과 對比하여 나타난 資料를 中心으로 , 飜案小說의 槪念을 外國小說에서 그 核心 줄거리를 借用하여 그 當時 創作小說에서 나타나던 自國의 信傳統的 類型으로 改作된 것으로 定義했다. 또한 國文學 領域의 擴張이라는 意味에서 飜案을 模倣·剽竊이라는 機械的 公式化만을 意識할 것이 아니라, 飜案小說 作品 自體를 分析하여 改作으로 因하여 窮極的으로 追求하는 作品의 意味가 달라졌다면 第二의 創作으로서 獨自的 作品價値를 認定해야 할 것이다. 그리고 Ⅲ章에서는 一般的으로 飜案小說로 알려진 作品과 原典과의 對比를 통하여 飜案·飜譯·創作의 與否를 確認하고, 人名·地名·章의 設定·作品의 줄거리를 比較하여 原典과의 差異点을 指摘하였다. 이러한 對比를 中心으로 Ⅳ章에서 飜案小說의 樣相을 主題·Plot·背景·人物· 風俗과 修辭의 一致와 變形面에서 考察하고, 이어서 Ⅴ章에서 飜案小說과 前代·當代 및 後代小說과의 脈絡關係를 살펴보았다. 飜榮小說은 國文學史에서 絶緣·孤立시킬 수 없는 獨自的인 文學史的 位置를 지니고 있기 때문에 결코 소홀히 할 수 없는 分野이다. ;Adaptation for the Korean novel from the foreign may act on the reception-transmission relationship beyond the confines of one particular country, as an important category of comparative literature. However, Korean scholars and critics in the adapted Korean novel seem to have reached negative blockade against the adapted by neglecting and depreciating the adapted Korean novel as a "blot" in the history of Korean literature. Of course, there have been the studies of theory concerning the adapted Korean novel from the foreign. However, it has been much neglected to study the adapted Korean work itself in connection with the original. In this respect, the first chapter deals with historical and theoretical backgrounds of the adapted Korean novel, which demand its expansive definition through the analysis of three novels fitting well for the purpose of this study in the succeeding chapter. Thus in the following chapter, this study points out adaptation, from translation and creation by analoging and contrasting with the original, furthermore, this chapter is concerned with the adapted work and the original by comparision in terms of the names of persons, the names of places, the titles of section, and of stories in the adapted Korean. In this way, the following chapter deals with accordances and variations between the adapted work and the original in terms of the distinct aspects of novel such as theme, plot, background, character, custome, and rhetoric. Through this analysis, finally this study reveals the unique qualities of the adapted Korean novel which occupies a unique place related to traditional Korean novel in the history of Korean literature.
