人體의 이메지를 통한 陶磁美術의 形態 硏究

Abstract

The contemporary potters express their respective sense of beauty through several aspects of the ceramic art which consists of the clay and the fire. The sense of beauty is based on the potters, ability to handle materials and the potters' technique of expression and philosophy of form-making. In the pursuit of aesthetics of pottery, the contemporary potters are faced with the problem how to develop artistic and modern senses for modern styles of pottery from the traditional concept of pottery. The worldwide trend of the ceramic art shows that the form of the contemporary potters becomes different from the traditional form of pottery, and the contempory ceramics seeks the artistic sense through diversified forms in order to pursuit the real essence of the clay in the sense of sculptural art. In considering such contemporary circumstances of the ceramic art, this study points out that a study on forms is the initial step to approach toward the modern ceramic art, and the aim of this study is the pursuit of the possibilities of sculptural forms for modern pottery through the images of human figures. Accordingly, in the making-process of pottery for this study, it is attempted not to keep the traditional concept, of ceramic forms, but to make diversified forms by several basic wheel-throwing methods to seek the essence of inner image and vivification of human forms through expression of human figures. It is also attempted to harmonize the forms, the glazes, the characteristics of clap and the firing methods. The following conclusions are made by this study. 1. In order to seek diversified forms, the concept of the traditional pottery forms should be overcome, and positive attitudes should be taken. 2. The pursuit of forms based on the wheel-throwing methods make it possible to reach the naturally abstract form, and to provide the symmetric beauty that co be felt in the living materials. 3. This study shows that it is possible to make diversified forms by the wheel-throwing methods, and there is no limit in the ceramic art which can be achieved by the approach of disciplines in the basic ability of clay-handling and sculptural sense.;現代 陶藝人은 흙과 불로서 이루어지는 도자미술 세계를 통하여 각기 다른 미의식을 표현하고 있다. 그것은 재료를 다룰수 있는 能力과 자신의 表現技法과 造形觀을 바탕으로 추구되는 美의 세계이다. 陶磁美의 추구에 있어서 현대는 어떻게 傳統의 개념을 소화하면서, 새로운 도자기에 예술성과 현대성을 부여할것인가하는 문제가 대두되고 있다. 세계적인 도자미술의 추세를 살펴 보더라도 현대의 도자기는 전통적인 양식에서 탈피하여 차츰 造形藝術로서의 흙의 本質的인 意義를 추구하며 다양한 형태 속에서 예술성을 모색하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 本 硏究는 형태의 문제를 현대도자미술에 접근하는 가장 기본적인 해결의 실마리로서 지적하고 人體의 이메지를 통하여 새로운 도자기의 조형적 형태의 可能性을 추구하는데 목적이 있다. 따라서 作品制作에 있어서 도자기의 전통적인 형태개념에서 벗어나 물레성형한 기본형을 다양하게 變形하는 방법으로 인간의 내면적인 이메지와 인간의 본질적인 것, 生命感을 추구하는 조형적인 형태들을 형상화 하였다. 그리고 형태와 유색과 점토의 질감이 조화를 이루도록 시유방법을 연구, 소성하였다. 이러한 본과정의 결론은 첫째, 다양한 형태추구를 위하여서는 傳統的인 形態槪念에서 벗어나려는 적극적인 태도를 가져야하며 둘째, 물레성형 기법을 기본으로한 형태의 추구는 자연스럽게 抽象化된 형태에 접근하게 하며 살아있는 生命體에서 느껴지는 것처럼 좌우대칭의 균형을 갖게하고 셋째, 물레성형 기법만으로도 다양한 형태의 모색이 가능하며 粘土를 다루는 基本能力과 造形的인 훈련이 이루어 질 때 형태로 접근하는 도자예술은 무한한 可能性을 지니고 있다는 것이다.
