Abstract

This study surveyed the transition course and the styles of Korean fashion laying emphasis on the women's fashion from armistice up to the present. In the content, I considered the general artistic tendencies and styles after World War II so as to understand modern Korean fashion all the more, and categorized the periods of concerned time such as the times of the introduction western style dress and dressmaking shops (1953-60), the times of made-to-order clothes (1961-70), the times of salon (1971-76), and the times of ready-made clothes (1977-the present). The times of the introduction of western style dress and dressmaking shops (1953-60) was the period of austerity. Those days overflowed with the relief goods and overwhelmed by "free madame", the name of a novel showing confused view of the value system after Korean War. The Western fashion was adopted in 3 or 4 years lag through the foreign fashion magazines, yet, by and by the spread of western style dress had become accelerated, and finally in the1960s, the first generation of designer appeared and played a role of standard bearer of Korean fashion, In those days, the attitude of uncritical acceptance of western style was common phenomenon in the general art at large as well as in fashion. In the times of made-to-order clothes (1961-70), People wore "rehabilitation elothes", reformed Korean dresses with the idea of rationalization of life style, the arousal of national awareness, In this period, the uniformity of fashion was remarkable. In the times of salon (1971-76), the popularization of western fashion was accelerated by high economic growth, Mini, Pantaloon, midi and so forth emerging from the young stars spreaded over various classes. The period was, by large the time of so called cultural standard-bearers of the blue jeans and the whole guitar generation. The times of ready-made clothes (1977-the present) showed the tendency of individualization of fashion style, and internationalization of Korean fashion business groping for the overseas expansion. Analyzing and recreating from the foreign mode, the taste of Korean fashion design is burgeoning. The time lag between western fashion and Korean fashion trend was 3 or 4 years in the 1950s. But since 1980s, the Korean fashion trend moves almost at the same pace with the international trend. While the classic types of fashion like mannish look were diffused rapidly, the avant-garde types of fashion like punk look were diffused after long period. But once these fashion acquired popularization, it became a uniformity like in the case of mini skirt and pantaloon, and the phenomenon of exaggeration was notable.;本 硏究는 한국패션의 變遷과정과 그 樣武에 대해서 휴전 이후부터 현재까지의 여성패션을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 그리하여 戰後 一般藝術의 경향과 그 樣式을 고찰하고 패션양식의 時代槪念을 양장傳播期와 양장점의 出現期 (1953 ~ 1960년), 맞춤복 時代 (1961 ~ 1970년). 살롱 時代 (1971 ~ 1976년), 기성복時代 (1977 ~현재 )등으로 나누어 고찰하였다. 양장 전파기와 양장점의 출현기 (1953 ~ 1960년)는 耐乏 시대서 구호물자가 범람했으며, 戰後 가치관의 혼란으로 인한 小說 '自由夫人'이 시대를 풍미하였다. 서구패션은 잡지를 통해 3~4년 정도 늦게 수용되었으며 양복화가 가속되었고 제 1 세대 디자이너가 등장하여 기수의 역할을 하였다. 서구양식의 무비판적인 수용태도는 패션뿐 만 아니라 일반예술 전반의 공통적인 현상이었다. 맞춤복 시대 (1961 ~ 1970년)는 생활의 合理化와 民族意識 고취 속에서 再農服의 등장과 改良韓服 그리고 맞춤복에 의한 패션의 획일화가 현저했다. 개량한복의 등장과 함께 아리랑 드레스등이 제시되었다. 살롱 시대 (1971 ~ 1979년)는 고도 성장기를 맞아 서구패션의 大衆化 時代가 개막되었다. 영 패션에서 등장한 미니를 선두로 판탈롱, 미니등이 여러 계층에 확산되었다. 이른바 청바지·통기타 세대의 문화의 기수가 출현하였다. 기성복 시대 (1977~현재)는 패션화 시대, 개성화 시대를 맞이하며 패션의 해외 진출을 모색하는 국제화 시대가 개막되었고, 외래모드를 수용, 재창조하여 디자인에 있어 한국적 이미지에 대한 탐색이 나타났다. 이상의 시대적인 양식에서 전체적인 특색은 서구패션의 수용과정에서 서구패션과 한국패션의 시차가 1950년대의 3~4년에서 1980년대는 거의 같은 해에 유행이 전파되었다. 매니쉬 (mannish) 룩 같은 일종의 클래식 (classic)한 패션은 급속히 전파되는 반면, Punk와 같은 아방가르드(avant-garde)적인 패션은 오랜 기간이 지난 뒤에 확산되었다. 그러나 이러한 패션들은 다른나라에 비해 한국에서는 일단 대중화되면 미니 스커트와 판탈롱의 예와 같이 확산이 획일화되어 전파되며 과장현상이 현저하게 나타났다.
