자연의 조형성을 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

The subject for the study is selected from organic and three-dimensional images of not only some oncean lives but also seeweeds which show ever-changing motions among the abundant sources of nature that have deep relations with human lives and arts. The purpose of the study is 1) to reorganize with a variety of thoughts the beauty of nature which has been oeverlooked and disregarded so far as materials to be observed in terms of abstract concept, aesthetic characteristics, and structural features all of which are offered by nature for a plenty of subject matters in the forms of various changes and organic images, and 2) to expand the presentational methods for natural clothings and to develop the formativeness of custumes. For the sound contents and theoretical backgrounds some literatures are served as a good reference of the concept and aspect of nature and formativeness; Reference materials and periodicals are consulted to understand how nature is expressed on the costume design aesthetically and what are their typical forms. With such materials the in importance of recreation of nature is recognized. Then, forms and colors, formative features of ocean lives the subject of fhis study - are examined, on the basis of which costumes, especially modern ones with a variety of expressions are reviewed to present costume designs with simplified expression: Eight works in all are prepared. What has been discovered through the study are as follows: First, is is suggested that the mysteries of nature may be further developed to have individual forms through the creative power of researchers/designers so that the morpholgical beauty of nature and the formative beauty of costumes can be leveled up to the extent of aret, since the forms of nature with a plenty of changes have expressional possibilities without limitation with it Second, a new methodology is discovered by which new silhouettes may be expressed through the flat-formed reorganization by expressing with a tape using bias the three-dimensional movements of organic forms felt from ocean lives and then weaving or connecting them to basic sillhouettes. Third, it is understood that the structures of ocean lives and a variety of ever-changing colors of seeweeds according to their various living condition my be developed as a means of expressing abstraction, reality, and other diverse shapes. Seemingly, by help of such various colors the value of clothings may be improved and beautiful elements of design will be added. Four, the application of tapes such as ones using patchwork, quilting, and bias is turned out to be a suitable way to express pretty forms and rhythmical beauty in nature. Meanwhile, the results of the study show that the expression by original creation has been much diversified in that realistic and/or graphical expression of ocean lives are more frequently used for costume designs. Five, it is needed to remind peoples of nature contaminated everyday by industries by making an effort to create new forms and providing people for a change of taking clothings which are specifically designed for the purpose.;자연은 항상 인간과 접해있고 인간은 모든 예술의 근원인 자연을 연구하여 순리를 깨닫고 따름으로써 자연과 동화되어 왔다. 인간은 자연의 섭리안에 존재하는 자연의 한 부분으로써 예술의 미를 낳게하는 모체인 자연을 끊임없는 이미지로 형성하여 다양한 표현을 창조하는 하나의 매체로 도입하여 이미지를 재구성함으로써 표현영역을 확대하고 있다. 조형예술에서 복식은 현대에 와서 단순히 인체를 감싸고 장식하는 기능적인 면과 실용적인 측면만이 아니라 예술적 순수조형으로 인간의 내면과 개성을 표현하는 수단이 되었고 더 나아가서는 추상적인 형태로의 발전을 보여주고 있다. 본 연구는 인간의 생활과 예술에 밀접한 관계가 있는 다양한 디자인의원천인 자연 가운데 해양생물과 움직임의 변화가 큰 해조의 유기적이고 합체적인 이미지를 작품의 주제로 선택하였다. 따라서 다양한 변화 및 유기적 이미지로 우리들에게 무궁무진한 소재를/ 제공하는 자연이 가지고 있는 추상적 개념, 미적특성, 구조적특성 그리고 동적특성에 대한 관찰로서 소외되고 인식되어지지 않는 자연의 아름다움을 다양한 사고로 그 형태를 재구성하여 자연의상에 도입되는 표현기법의 영역을 확대시켜 의상의 조형성을 개발하는데 그 의의를 두고자 한다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법을 이론적 배경으로 자연의 개념과 조형성 및자연의 형태를 문헌을 통해 고찰하고 의상에 도입된 자연의 표현기법을 참고자료 및 정기간행물을 통해서 조사하였으며 의상에 표현된 대표적 형태들을 연구하여 디자인 대상으로서 자연의 재창조성의 중요성을 인식하였다. 다음으로 연구의 주제인 해양생물의 조형적 특성인 형태와 색채를 고찰 하였으며 이를 토대로한 다양한 표현의 의상을 현대를 중심으로 살펴본 후 간소화된 표현기법을 사용한 복식디자인을 제시하여 작품 8점을 제작하였다. 이러한 연구과정을 통한 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 많은 변화를 가지고 있는 자연의 형태는 무한한 표현의 가능성을가지고 있고 의상에 응용하므로써 자연의 신비스로운 생명력을 연구자의 독창적 형태로 발전시켜 자연의 조형성과 의상의 형태미를 조형예술의 차원으로 승화시킴이 가능하였다. 둘째, 해양생물에서 느껴지는 유기적 형태의 입체적 움직임을 정바이어스를 이용한 테이프로 표현하여 기본 실루엣의 의상에 엮거나 이어감으로써 평면형태의 재구성을 통해 새로운 실루엣을 만들수 있는 방법이었다. 셋째, 해양생물의 구조와 해초의 생활환경에 따라 변화하는 다양한 색감은 추상적 표현, 사실적 표현 및 다양한 표현안식 수단으로 개발이 가능함을 알게되었다. 이러한 많은 자연의 색을 이용하므로써 의상의 가치를 높이고 아름다운 디자인의 요소가 됨을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 패치 워크, 퀼팅, 정바이어스를 이용한 테이프의 웅용기법들은 자연물의 아름다운 형태와 율동미를 표현하는데에 적합한 방법이었다. 반면, 해양생물의 사실적 묘사나 회화적인 기법이 의상에 많이 사용되었는데 본연구결과 창의적 개발에 의한 표현기법의 다양함을 알수 있었다. 다섯째, 자연의 창조적 조형성을 끊임없이 연구하여 대중화된 의상을시도하여 일반인들에게 입을 수 있는 기회를 제공하므로써 산업화로 사라져가는 자연을 재인식 하도록 하는것이 필요하다.
