- Abstract
- In the early period of Yi dynasty, the census registration law was enacted in the purpose of correction of the bad effects caused by the collaption of the old law in Koryo dynasty, which brought its society into chaos and to restore the function of the law to rule over the nation.
Under this situation, government had made its effort to arrange their system with enforcing the law and its supplementary laws, such as "N.eighbor assurance law", 'Census plate law" and "Five household linkage law".
Census registration was made every three year through the register from householders and was equipped at Ministry of Finance (Hojo), Hansung district government in capital city and was placed at every district of fices in ths other province.
The law was classified into general census registration and special one.
The former recorded the householder's address, job, name, great-grandfather's names of the couple, ancestral home, age, children, servants, while the latter stated mainly for the lower level of society.
As above-mentioned, the writer in this paper aims to clarify the historical distribution of the law.
For this purpose she studies complicated actual surroundings in the enactment of the law. And she introduces the content of the law and examines the functions of the law and its supplementary laws
