위사 브로케이드를 응용한 직물연구

Abstract

According as the civilization develops, human beings came to demand more comfortable environment. And, so as to satisfy this demand, the interest degree of society about interior design came to be improved largely since the beginning of recent times. In addition, according as the standard of living is improved, the concept about dwelling space is being individualized and diversified by getting out of the concept which means the simple food, clothing and housing and being expanded to the concept as the culture space. The textile in the interior space has frequently been used in the indoor interior because of its own peculiar softness, the diverse colors, and texture etc. And, the demand is increasing gradually. In addition, owing to the development of weaving technique, human beings got to manufacture the textiles of various uses, and they came to have the interest about the decorative use in the aesthetic aspect with the functional use largely. Brocade technique was frequently used in the ancient traditional textile, because of the gorgeous and diverse pattems. Then, it is frequently discovered from the textile of alpine region of South America or East Asia, India, France and Mexico etc. Especially, in the silkroad which is the traffic route of the East and the West, many silk fabrics were transacted. Then, in the silk fabrics which has the decorative and gorgeous features, brocade techniques was frequently used. Brocade is the technique to show the pattem by using the third thread to be used accessorily in the general weaving to be composed of weft and warp. Then, it is classified into various kinds according as how the weft to be used accessorily is used. In this study, this researcher tried to manufacture the textile work with more free expression form which got out of the existing weaving concept by studying the Theo Moorman Technique that the manufacture method is simple relatively and the picturesque expression is possible out of the brocade technique. The textile is classified into various kinds according to the use. But, out of them, this researcher thed to heighten the artistic action value by manufacturing the Wall Hanging to give the feeling like the mural in the interior of a room. And, this researcher tried to be helpful to displaying the individual interior space by it. In addition by manufacturing the work which used Theo Moorman Technique, this researcher laid emphasis on letting the people know the peculiar feature of the mixture of thread to appear with more free expression technique and the overlapping effect of auxiliary weft and trying to suggest the diverse possibilities in manufacturing the textile work.;문명이 발달할수록 인간은 보다 쾌적한 환경을 요구하게 되었고, 이러한 요구를 충족시키기 위하여 인테리어 디자인에 대한 사회 관심도는 근래에 와서 크게 향상되기에 이르렀다. 또한 생활수준이 향상됨에 따라 주거 공간에 대한 개념도 단순한 의식주를 의미하는 개념에서 벗어나 문화공간으로서의 개념으로 확대되어 개성화, 다양화 되어가고 있다. 실내 공간에 있어서 직물은 그 특유의 부드러움과 다양한 색상, 텍스츄어(texture)등으로 실내 인테리어에 자주 사용되어 왔고 그 수요도 점점 증가 되고 있다. 한편 직조기술의 발전으로 인간은 여러가지 용도의 직물을 제작하게 되었고 그 기능적인 용도와 더불어 심미적인 면에서의 장식적인 용도도 크게 관심을 가지게 되었다. 브로케이드 기법은 화려하고 다양한 무늬로 인해 고대 전통직물에 많이 사용되었는데 남미 고산지대나 동아시아, 인도, 프랑스, 멕시코 등의 직물에서 흔히 발견된다. 특히 동서양의 교통로인 실크로드에서 견직물이 많이 거래되었는데 장식적이고 화려함이 특징인 견직물에 브로케이드 기법이 많이 사용 되었다. 브로케이드는 위사와 경사로 이루어지는 일반 직조에 보조적으로 쓰이는 제 3의 실을 사웅해서 패턴을 나타내는 기법을 말하는데 보조적으로 쓰이는 위사가 어떻게 사용되느냐에 따라 여러가지 종류로 나뉜다. 본 논문은 브로케이드 기법 중에서도 제직 방법이 비교적 간단하면서도 회화적 표현이 가능한 시어 무어먼 기법(Theo Moorman Technique)을 연구함으로써 기존의 직조개념에서 벗어난 좀 더 자유로운 표현 형식으로서의 직물 작품을 제작하려고 하였다. 직물은 그 용도에 따라 여러가지로 나뉘지만 그 중에서도 실내에서 벽화와 같은 느낌을 주는 벽걸이(Wall Hanging)를 제작하여 예술적 작품 가치를 높이려 했으며 그것으로 인해 개성적인 실내공간을 연출하는데 도움이 되고자 했다. 또한 시어 무어먼 기법을 사용한 작품을 제작함으로써 직물 작품을 제작함에 있어서 좀 더 자유로운 표현 기법과 보조 위사의 겹치는 효과로 나타나는 실의 혼합의 독특한 특성을 알리고 다양한 가능성을 제시하고자 하는데 역점을 두었다.
