Bela Bartok의 Piano Sonata에 對한 小考

Abstract

바르톡(Bela Bartok)은 20세기 항가리가 낳은 작곡가의 거장이며 또한 뛰어난 피아니스트이기도 하다. 그는 민속음악에 대한 연구로써 20세기 음악에 큰 공헌을 했으며, 뛰어난 독창성과 다양한 수법으로 작곡 함으로써 몇몇의 작곡가들과 함께 20세기를 대표할 수 있는 작곡가인 것이다. 세계 제1차대전 이후, 문화, 경제, 사회면으로 많은 변화를 겪는 가운데 20세기 음악도 격심한 변화를 이루게 되었다. 즉, 종래의 전통적인 형식이나 기법등에 새로운 style의 음악이 혼합되어 이어지면서 20세기 음악은 새로운 작풍과 다양한 수법의 여러가지 경향들이 나타난다. 여기에서 바르톡은 이러한 모든 수법들을 융합시켜 그 자신의 개성적인 음악을 만들어 냄으로써 20세기 음악의 한 부분을 장식한다. 바르톡은 여러 작곡가들에게서 영향을 받았지만 그 자신의 독자적인 여러 수법-활발하고 생동적인 리듬, 민요에 의한 선율, 자극적인 불협화음, 4도 간격의 화음등 -으로 그의 음악세계를 형성시켜 나갔다. 또한 바르톡은 피아노 음악에서도 매우 개성적인 style들을 보여 주고 있다. "Bagatelles"에서의 개성적인 소리의 울림이나, "Etude No.1"등에서 볼 수 있는 손의 확장을 요구하는 technigue, 또 넓게 조약하는 음정을 가진 "Sonata", "Improvisations" 등을 볼 수 있다. 그리고 음악에 활력을 더해주는 빠른 ostinato, 옥타브와 화음의 이례적인 둔탁함, 많은 지속음의 사용, 등등 여러 가지 특징적인 피아노 음악의 기법을 사용했다. 바르톡은 戰亂 중에서도 민요에 대한 끊임없는 수집과 연구를 함으로써 그의 여러 작품들에 기초로 삼았고, 피아노 음악교육에 빼놓을 수 없는 작품들을 작곡 함으로써 피아노 교육에 있어서도 바르톡은 매우 중요한 위치를 차지한다. 바르록에 대한 본 논문이 다루고 있는것을 요약해보면 다음과 같다. 서론 : 20세기의 시대적 배경과 그것이 음악에 미친 영향 및 20세기 음악에 있어서의 바르톡의 위치. 본론 : 1. 바르톡의 생애-그의 성장과정, 교육과정 및 사회적 배경과 그의 작품들. 2. 바르특 음악에 대한 일반적인 특징-바르톡 음악의 형식, 조성 및 화성. 바르톡이 음악에 사용한 여러가지 개성적인 수법과 style들을 형식, 조성 및 화성의 세 방면으로 나누어 살핀다. 3. 바르톡의 음악에 있어서의 민요의 중요성. 바르톡의 중요한 업적의 하나인 민요의 수집과 연구에 대하여 살피면서 그러한 민요들이 바르톡의 음악에서 어떻게 다루어졌으며 또한 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는가를 다룬다. 4. 바르톡의 피아노 음악의 특징과 그의 중요 피아노 작품들. 탁월한 기교를 가진 피아니스트로서의 바르톡은 많은 피아노 곡을 작곡하였으며 그 피아노 곡에 나타나는 특징들과 중요한 피아노 작품들을 소개한다. 5. 바르톡의 “Piano Sonata"의 분석. 바르톡의 대표적 피아노곡인 “Piano Sonata"를 분석하게 되는데 형식적인면, 특징있는 선율, 박자의 변화, 화음등 그의 독특한 수법들을 연주, 조사한다. 이상과 같이 여러각도에서 바르톡의 음악을 다루어 본 결과, 필자는 20세기 초반기의 음악에 사용되었던 기법, style등에 좀 더 깊은 지식을 얻을 수 있었으며, 아울러 바르톡의 음악이 20세기 음악에 매우 밀접하게 연결되어 있다는 것을 새삼 깨달았다. 그리고 바르톡의 탁월한 독창성과 다양한 수법은 20세기 음악에 있어서 매우 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있으므로 그의 작품들은 더욱 더높이 평가되어저야 할 것으로 생각된다.;The Hungarian musician Bela Bartok is one of the greatest composers and pianists in the 20th century. His study on folk music made a great contribution to the advancement of the 20th century music, and his outstanding creativity and diversified style of composition made himself a representative composer in the 20th century. Keeping pace with cultural, economic, and social changes after World War I, the 20th century music has also suffered serious changes. The traditional forms or musical techniques were fused with those of new kinds, and thus the 20th century music began to have a new kind of style and a variety of technigues. Fusing such various techniques into his own unique style of music, Bela Bartok decorated part of the 20th century music. Though influenced by many composers, his unique techniques vivid, lively rhythms, folk melodies, stimulative dissonances and chords in fourth-came to form his own world of music. And also his piano music shows uniqueness in style. This is represented in the idiosyncratic sonorities in Bagatelles, in Musettes or Etude No, 1, which demands techniques of finger stretches, and in Improvisations or Sonata with wide skips. In addition, as his piano music techniques he made use of techniques of rapid ostinato figures, characteristic thickness of chords and octaves, and drone bass to show vividness in his music. His incessant study and collection of folk music gave him firm foundation of many compositions. Also his compositions closely related with piano education play an important role in the education of piano. This thesis can be summerized as follows: Introduction : Political background of the 20th century, its influence upon music and Bela Bartok's position in the 20th century music. Chapter 1 : Bartok's life - his growth and educational process, his social background, and his works. Chapter 2 : The general characteristics of his music, mainly on the form, tonality and harmony. Explanations for his idiosyncratic style and techniques in every form, tonality and harmony. Chapter 3 : Importance of folk song In his music. One of his greatest achievements was his study and collection of folk songs. This chapter contains appropriate explanations on how Bartok dealt with folk songs in his music and also on the influences of them upon his music. Chapter 4 : The characteristics of Bartok's piano music and his piano works. Bartok with excellent techniques composed many works for the piano. Here, characteristics in his piano compositions are briefly discussed. Chapter 5 : An analysis of Bartok's Piano Sonata. Piano Sonata one of his representative compositions is analysed, thus forms, melodies, changes of time-signatures, harmonies, etc., are examined. Judging from various points, this author finds that Bartok's music is closely related to the early 20th century music with regard to techniques, style and form. Bartok's superior creativity and variety of techniques in compositions must be highly estimated.
