Robert Schumann의 Kreisleriana 小考

Abstract

Robert Schumann is one of the greatest composers, critics and conductors in the 19th century. And he is a representative of romantic tradition. The art of romanticism developed in the literary world of Germany at the end of the 19th century. Schumann was much influenced by the fantastic works of literary men such as Byron, Jean Paul, and Hoffmann. Following the technique of J.S.Bach, Mocheles and Schubert, he took charge of the role as an essential musician of German ramantic tradition. Especially, his peculiar filling and unique world of music left many works which are necessary for the novices of romantic music. Schumann's unique style is best shown at his piano works. He created a various of techniques such as vital and brilliant rhythm using syncopation, cross rhythm, extremely static expression of melody, canon or counterpoint, application of the imitation, new tone color improvement by effective application of pedal, promotion of tension caused by accidental transition, and the harmony which is rich and has various colors. This thesis can be summarized as follows: Introduction: Historical, literary, and musical background of romantic tradition in the 19th century. The position of Schumann and Kreisleriana. Ⅰ. The Life of Schumann. His growth, education, creative of work and criticism. Ⅱ. General features of Schumann's piano music various techniques and styles which he uses in piano music in connection with the form, tonality, rhythm, and harmony. Ⅲ. The piano works of schumann. Typical piano works which hold the most important place and their general characteristics. Ⅳ. The Analysis of 'Kreisleriana' This chapter contains a study and research on the various techniques such as forms, changes of beat, proceedings of characteristic melody, unique rhythm, tonality, harmony, etc. Owing to the close contact with the piano music of Schumann, this author became more acquainted with his world of music, and recognized that his excellent creativity and technique hold very important place in German romantic music. And, Schumann's works must be highly estimated.;슈만 (Robert Schumann, 1810-1856년)은 19세기 독일이 낳은 작곡가이며 평론과 지휘활동을 겸했던 낭만파 음악가의 대표적 인물이다. 낭만예술은 18세기 말엽 독일의 문단을 중심으로 하여 전개되었으며 슈만은 바이런, 장파울, 호프만과 같은 문인들의 환상적 작품에서 많은 영향을 받았다. 또한 J.S. 바하, 모셀레스, 슈베르트 등의 수법을 따르면서 자신의 개성적인 음악을 융합시켜 독일 낭만 음악의 眞髓로서의 역할을 담당한 것이었다. 특히 ,그의 특유한 서정성과 독특한 음악의 세계는 낭만 음악의 입문자들에게 필수적인 학습용의 작품들을 많이 남겼다. 슈만은 피아노 작품에서 가장 자신의 개성적인 style을 발휘하고 있는데 당 김 음, cross rhythm의 사용으로 생동적이고 현란함을 느끼게 되는 리듬감, 극히 정적인 선율의 표현, 캐논, 모방적 수법의 대위법 사용, 페달의 효과적인 사용으로 새로운 음색 개발, 예기치 않은 전조로서 긴장감을 조성, 풍부하고 다양한 색채를 지닌 화성등의 독창적인 기법들을 만들어 냈다. 슈만에 대한 본 논문이 다루고 있는 것을 요약해보면 다음과 같다. 서론 : 19세기 낭만주의의 역사적, 문학적, 음악적 배경과 당시의 음악의 흐름을 파악하고, 슈만의 위치와 〈Kreisleriana 〉 에, 대해서 언급한다. 본론 : Ⅰ. 슈만의 생애 슈만의 성장과정, 교육과정, 평론과 작품활동. Ⅱ. 슈만 피아노 음악의 일반적 특징 슈만이 피아노 음악에 사용한 여러가지 수법과 style을 형식, 조성, 리듬, 화성면에서 살펴본다. Ⅲ. 슈만의 피아노 작품 슈만의 작품활동 중에서 가장 중요한 비중을 차지하는 피아노 작품에 대해서 대표적인 작품을 소개하고 특징을 알아본다. Ⅳ. 슈만의 〈Kreisleriana〉 분석 슈만이 가장 아끼던 작품중의 하나인 〈Kreisleriana〉를 분석하면서 형식, 박자의 변화, 특징있는 선율의 진행, 독특한 리듬, 조성, 화음등 이 작품에서 쓰여진 수법들을 세밀히 연구, 조사한다. 이상과 같이 다방면으로 슈만의 피아노 음악을 다루어 본 필자는 그의 음악세계와 좀 더 밀접해 질 수 있었으며, 슈만의 탁월한 독창성과 수법등은 독일 낭만음악에서 매우 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있음을 인식 하였다. 또한 그의 작품들은 더욱 더 높이 평가되어져야 할것으로 사료된다.
