dc.description.abstractThe initial point on the progressive stage of today's art is recognized as the straight line changes which had been taking developing steps according to the lapse of time and space. It changed to the curved line and developed into the realization of the outline of form. This of the straight line expression could be found on the wall painting in the Altamila cave which was on of the expressions of the premitive life. The curve line is to reveal the expression of nature. It is mainly used to signify human being or animals. The straight line was used merely as a sign. When the primitive acquired the knowledge of human sex, the angled line was used to express this. From then on lines were used as the expression of all the necessities of human life. Lines used as such have become the basis of the development of the sign. This stage is marked as the beginning of the history of art. Lines forming the characteristics of the space uisualize various forms. On this principle, therefore, the Oriental caligraphy was derived and the form might be considered as to produce either an abstract condition or an fantastic content. This enables the line under the symbolic expression. The use of line is preferably selected according to thes pecific aspects of each generation. From this aspect the attention is given to the methodology of forming, while it makes us think on the possibilities if the form could be formated from the phase which dosn't have a concrete matter. When certain measures are given on the living thing, it is being actively existed generating various mation sand the art progressively passess the infinite variety of expression. Such an art can orovide diverrified forms of expression according to the changes of times and different races. Each generation has its own symbols. The symbol is closely related to the whole history of religion and it influences on both sign and symbol as the signal elements of art and furthermore influences on the symbols of poem, rhythem and color. The signs of the modern art are uniquely observed as symbolic expression of the language and communicate the meaning of something that creates a possibility of realization of a new mode of world with the media of images.-
