Abstract
The single intraperitoneal administration of Panax Saponin A(Panaxatriol diglucoside) obtained from Korean Ginseng stimulated the incorporation rate of ^(14)C-Leucine into liver and serum protein in a mouse. The maximum incorporation rate of ^(14)C-Leucine was shown at 4 hrs. after a single dose intraperitoneal injection and its maximum increase was 42% at 1 mg/mouse(20g),61% at 2 mg/mouse(20g) more than that of control group. The increase was still observed 24 hrs. after treatment. Ginsenoside Rb_(1) (Panaxadiol group) stimulated the incorporation rate of ^(14)C-Leucine similarly to Panax Saponin A. On the other hand, the intraperitoneal injection of Panax Saponin A did not stimulate the tyrosine-α-ketoglutarate transaminase activity in liver. It is suggested from these results that stimulating effect of Panax Saponin A on the incorporation of ^(14)C-Leucine is shown by direct acting mechanism in vivo.
