Abstract
肖像彫刻은 古代이래 世界의 여러 문화권에서 각각 독자적인 전개를 보여왔다. 전통적으로 肖像彫刻은 記念碑的인 성격으로 시작되었으나 近代에 와서는 藝術家의 藝術性을 부여하고 재료와 표현을 자유롭게 함으로써 彫刻美術史의 중요한 장르로 자리잡게 되었다. 本 硏究에서는 彫刻史에 나타난 肖像彫刻을 살펴보고 그 中에서 특히 다양한 材料와 독창적인 表現方法으로 肖像彫刻을 제작한 Marisol Escobar(1930- )의 作品世界 전반에 걸친 고찰을 통해 Marisol Escobar의 藝術觀을 인식하고, 肖像彫刻에 나타난 表現特性을 硏究하는데 意義를 갖는다. 本 硏究의 目的은 Marisol Escobar 肖像彫刻을 分析하여 그 特性을 규명하는데 있다. 本 硏究의 內容은 彫刻史에 나타난 肖像彫刻과 Marisol Escobar 時代的 背景인 戰後 美國의 現代美術, 그리고 藝術世界를 理論的 背景에 준거하여 Marisol Escobar 肖像彫刻을 表現內容과 方法으로 나누어 分析하고 그 特性을 규명하였다. 本 硏究의 方法은 文獻과 作品을 基本道具로 하였으며, 文獻資料를 통하여 理論的 背景을 고찰하였다. 연구의 대상은 理論的 背景에서 29점, Marisol Escobar 作品 55점을 目的標集하였고, 자료처리는 표집된 作品을 表現內容과 方法으로 분류하여 그 特性을 규명하였다. 本 硏究의 結果는 다음과 같다. 表現 內容은 자서전적 기록에 의해 제작된 自肖像과 개인적 풍자로 가득찬 肖像彫刻으로 政治, 社會 및 自我의 현 상태에 대한 비판적 주석을 가하였다. 表現 方法은 첫째, Pop적인 사실표현과 肖像의 傳統的 사실표현이 Minimal적 요소와 고대 이집트 彫刻에 나타난 기하학적 구조와 복합형태로 나타나 한 作品 안에서 사실적 표현과 기하학적 구조를 동시에 表現하는 方法을 사용하였다. 둘째, 表現 材料에 있어서는 자연물의 Objet와 우연히 발견된 Objet, 그리고 기성품의 Objet에 다양한 表現樣式을 사요 d하여 해석된 Objet로 변형시켜 사용하였다. 셋째, 肖像彫刻의 분위기 창조와 表現人物의 개인적 특징을 상징화 하기 위하여 彩色과 더불어 drawing 하였다. 이와 같이 Marisol Escobar는 다양한 Objet와 회화성, 사실적 표현과 기하학적 구조로 肖像彫刻을 表現하였고, 이러한 表現 方法으로 政治, 社會 및 自我의 현 상태를 풍자해 냄으로써 肖像彫刻 기법의 다양화로 영역의 확대에 새로운 계기를 마련해 주었다.;The portrait sculpture has shown the independent unfolding in the various sculpture blocks of the world since ancient times. Traditionally, portrait sculpture started with the monumental character. But, in recent times, it got to take its place as the important genre of the history of sculpture art by giving the artistic nature of artist and making the material and expression free. The significance of this study is in examining the portrait sculpture which showed in sculpture history, and recoginzing the art view of Marisol Escobar and studying the expression feature which showes in the portrait sculpture through the study over the whole work world of Marisol Escobar (1930- ), who manufactured the portrait sculpture with the diverse materials and original expression method. The purpose of this study is examining the feture of the portrait sculpture of Marisol Escobar closely, by studying and analyzing it. As for the contents of this study, the portrait sculpture which showed in the history of sculpture, and the modern fine art of America after the war which is the period background of Marisol Escobar, and the art world were studied with the theoretical background. And, on the basis of this theoretical background, the portrait sculpture of Marisol Escobar was analyzed and the feature was examined closely, by dividing into the contents and method of expression. As for the method of this study, literature and work were made as the basic instrument, and the theoretical background was studied through literature data. As for the subject of study, purpose sampling was made with 29 pices from theoretical background and 55 pieces of the work of Marisol Escobar and as for the data handling, the feature of sampled works was examined closely, by classifying them into the contents and method of expression. The result of this study is : Expression contents added the critical commentary about the present state of politics, society and ego, with the self-fortrait manufactured by autobiographical record and with the portrait sculpture which is filled with individual satire. As the expression method, the first, pop fact expression and the traditional fact expression of portrait appeared with the compound form of the minimal element and the geometrical structure which appeared in the ancient Egypt sculpture. Thus, The method to express the realistic expression and the geometrical structure simultaneously in one work was used. The second, expression material was used, with the transformation to the objet interpreted by using diverse expression mode in the objet of natural material, objet found by chance, and ready-made objet. The third, for the creation of atmosphere of portrait sculpture and the symbolization of individual feature of expression person, drawing with coloration was made. Like this, Marisol Escobar expressed the portrait sculpture with the diverse objet pictorial nature, realistic expression and the geometrical structure. And, she prepared the new moment for the various tendency of technique of portrait sculpture and the expansion of scope, by satirizing the present state of politics, society and ego with this expression method.
