내적 표현을 위한 인물형상의 사실적 image 추구

Abstract

In painting, man's figuration can be referred to as an expression of the self who lives the present, a fundamental existence transcending time and space, and one of the objects pursued ceaselessly till now across the ages and countries of the world. If are be a work to discover one's own real self and to express it, looking back with a true view upon the present living self appearance to reflect himself and to render some existential value to himself may contribute to our self confirmation. The author's artwork by which the author tried to grasp the true picture and truth of man's life with foci given to his present-living appearance and his mental world, and to identify his dignity and subjectivity which has been lost during the period of high industrialization of the modern society through a sincere figuration of him, attempted to manifest the literalness of character figuration in order to relief images of such a kind of content. That is, through the character figuration by realistic technique, it is to present an inquiry, 'Where the inherent meaning of man must be found from?' For this reason, the study investigated the transition in style of Korean, Chinese and Japanese portraits to have a brief understanding of the realistic nature of character depiction, and intended to deal with the Eastern and Western character expressions summed up by view of this context. Also, the realistic expression peculiar to Korean was viewed by studying the spirit and character-expression technique of the portraits of the later Chosen dynasty that created our unique and individualistic character expression upon the ground of Korean-style beauty consciousness. And, upon a systematic analysis of the author's artwork referring picto-theories and courses of art-historic development of this realistic painting, it sought a new view frame of nowadays toward human body, and groped for a new potentiality to the future work.; 繪晝에 있어서 人間의 形象은 동서고금을 막론하고 지금까지 끊임없이 추구되어지는 대상들 중의 하나로, 현재를 살아가는 自己自身의 表現으로서 時代와 空間을 초월하는 根源的인 存在라고 말할 수 있다. 그러므로 藝術이 진정한 자기자신을 발견하고 또 그것을 표현해 내기 위한 작업이라면 현재를 살아가는 자신의 모습을 진실한 視覺으로 돌아봄으로 해서 인간 스스로가 인간에 대한 自己反省과 存在論的 價値를 부여함에 의해 우리의 正體를 확인할 수 있을 것이다. 현재를 살아가는 이러한 인간의 모습과 정신세계를 중심으로 삶의 진상과 진실을 파악하고 진실된 인간의 모습을 통해 현대의 고도산업사회로 발전해오면서 상실되어 버린 인간의 존엄성과 주체성을 糾明하고자 한 본인의 작품은, 이와 같은 내용의 이미지를 부각시키기 위해 인물형상의 事實性을 강조하여 표현하고자 했다. 즉, 사실적인 기법에 의한 인물형상을 통해서 과연 인간 본래의 의미는 어디에서 찾아야 할 것인가라는 根源的인 질문을 던져보려는 것이다. 그런 의미에서 본고는 인물형상 속에 드러나 있는 韓·中·日의 인물화의 양식변천을 고찰함으로써 인물묘사의 사실주의적 양상을 간단히 살펴보고, 동·서양의 인물표현을 개괄적으로 다루어 보고자 하였다. 또한 韓國的 美意識을 바탕으로 우리만의 독특하고 개성적인 인물표현을 창출했던 朝鮮後期 肖像畵의 정신과 인물표현기법을 연구하여 우리 고유의 사실적 표현을 살펴보고 이러한 사실적 경향의 회화의 미술사적인 전개과정과 畵論 등을 참고로 본인의 작업의 체계적인 분석을 통하여 오늘날 人體에 대한 새로운 視方式을 찾고 앞으로의 작업에 새로운 가능성을 모색해 보고자 하였다.
