인간형상을 통한 현실반영 연구

Abstract

Art has been evolved by the influence of historical, economic, and cultural changes in society. Especially since 20th century, art has changed dramatically. That phenomenon can be explained as the natural result of industrialization and dehumanization caused by the world Ⅰ & Ⅱ. The alienation of human beings is examined rather differently by the two movements in art. The first movement emphasize extremely the tendency of self-indulgence, which ignore real world. It represents art for art itself. And it's main concerns are creation of pure artistic beauty, and pursuit of artist's own identity. On the contrary of this tendency tilted formalism in art, the second movement seek the essence of art through relationship between human activity and social conditions. Perception of real world, accusation of dehumaized society has been reflected in the art of DaDa. and Sur-Realism. Pop Art, Nouvelle Figuration and Post-Modernism have raised the questions about the relationship between real world and human beings by pursuiting the formative aspect of art. And those schools have endeavored to express the reality of actual world. Thus, I too think a work based upon the latter movement position has its own meaning. Among many schools in that movement, I tried to seek the' theme of my art work from my concern for society, especially in Novelle Figuration which describes the history of human life as social being, and in many following formative paintings. Methodically, I tried to locate the aspects between those works which express different aspects while implying that school's esprit dutifully, namely Eduardo Arroy's (1937-), Gerard Fromanger's (1939-), Robert Longo's(1953-), and David Salle's (1952-) works and mine by comparing and analyzing contention and expression method. In conclusion, the purpose of my thesis lies in reinforcing the persuasive power of my painting through which I tried to express formatively contemporary society and human beings faced by many problems in the multidimensional expression method.;미술은 사회가 발달함에 따라 그 역사적·경제적·문화적 요건에 많은 영향을 받으며 변화되고 진행되어 왔다. 특히 20세기를 지나면서 미술은 상당히 복잡한 변화를 보여 왔다. 그것은 공업·산업의 발달과 두 차례에 걸친 대전으로 인한 사회의 비인간화에 따르는 당연한 결과라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 현상은 미술에 있어서 크게 두 가지 양상으로 나타난다. 첫째는 현실을 외면한 내면지향의 극단적 경향, 즉 예술을 위한 예술로서 예술가 자신의 정체성 추구, 순수 조형 질서의 창조, 색채의 독자적 표현 추구 등으로 치닫는 현상이다. 이러한 형식에 치우치는 경향에 반해 두 번째 경향은 예술을 인간활동의 사회적 조건과의 관계 속에서 파악하는 태도이다. 예술의 현실 인식, 사회의 비인간화에 대한 고발 정신은 다다와 초현실주의로부터 최근의 회화에 이르기까지에서 반영되고 있다. 이들 중 팝 아트(Pop Art), 신구상 회화(Nouvelle Figuration), 포스트 모더니즘(Post Modernism) 등은 특히 예술에 있어서의 형상성의 추구로 현실 세계와 인간의 관계에 의문을 제기하고 현실의 실체를 표출하고자 시도하였다. 여기서 본인은 후자의 예술적 태도와 정신을 기본으로 하는 작업에 의미를 두고 있으며 이러한 경향들 중 사회적 실존에 직면해 있는 인간의 삶의 역사를 서술하는 신구상 회화와 그 이후로도 계속 이어지고 있는 형상성을 위주로 하는 회화들에서 예술의 참여 정신에 입각한 본인의 작품제작 의도의 맥을 찾고자 하였다. 방법적인 면에서는 그러한 내용들을 충실히 함축하고 있으면서도 각자 색다른 표현을 하고 있는 에두아르도 아로요(Eduardo Arroyo, 1937~ ), 제라르 프로망제 (Gerard Fromanger, 1939~ ), 로버트 롱고(Robert Longo, 1953~ ), 데이비드 살르(David Salle, 1952~ ) 등 여러 작가의 작품 내용 및 표현 방법과 본인의 작품을 비교·분석하여 연관성을 찾고자 하였다. 그러므로 본 논문은 현대 사회와 인간의 문제점들을 인식하여 조형적 표출을 하고자 하는 본인의 의도를 확인하고 표현 방법을 다각도적으로 모색하는데 그 의의를 두려고 하였다.
